The worst example of poor laser safety I’ve ever seen!

Stupidity in his video has reached maximum levels.

    Sanwu 488nm Pocket beauty

I thought I would also add to this. Got mine when the discount for these was active. Mine had a 489nm sticker. The text on the diode looks like it reads: SB308B292 The 3E lens it came with was around 60mW & the G2 was about 70mW. Its much more blue than the other ones I have! This is the fist...

    Laser as raccoon deterrent?

Me thinks a group of blind raccoons would be a whole new set of problems. :undecided: Most people I know that have a decent amount of land either trap & relocate "pests" or shoot them. Would be hard to kill raccoons though because they are kind of cool; unless they were attacking pets or something.

    Just had to!

Cree XHP variants are amazing. While the led is only like $12. Its actually difficult to find a decent driver for these, and a really good reflector with a matching quality host. The reflector on that thing is huge! Too bad it doesn't have one of these magnetic mode selection rings like...

    Future of lasers

I just hope someday there will be a drive to produce direct orange, yellow, and pink diodes. I wont hold my breath..

    Never lucky

Hummm. I have an old m140 thats about 1.6w and has always used a 3E, and still going. Ive used it outdoors many times, and its taken some beatings. but not even close to a NUBM44 :undecided:

    Never lucky

I'm curious; what does it look like, and long did it go before you noticed it was too late? I try to keep a can of air around when removing lenses because this scares me.

Red dimmed light coming out of green laser

I have that charger. It really is so much better than having to keep replacing those no-name mystery chargers with the green light that might over charge. Less worried about things burning down too when going out for a bit. :)

Cheap way to measure laser wavelength

Ive been thinking about that video too since seeing it. Nice to see someone do it with good results!

    Tool AAA host. Maybe?

I gutted my Tool AAA flashlight and was pleased to find that the end is about 12.2mm with a lip at the end to hold a module in, and still alow the lens to poke though. I stuck an x-drive in for a test fit / example since its my only driver not in use right now. Too bad its just slightly too...

    Red Oclaro 700mW Dimmed @ 1.25A boost

That sucks. If its any help, I used a BlackBuck driver with my Oclaro 700. It can take an input of 7-12v

    Another 495nm cfmod GH04955A2G

Yes DedShadow, I think that is was I was talking about; the splash. I wasnt sure what the right name for that was so I use quotes. I prefer the 3e because the splash it makes is very faint close up in a dark room, and does disappear further away or if the environment is lit as Paul said. If...

FS: Sanwu Laser store - RGB handheld lasers, 405nm,445nm,465nm,470nm,505nm,515nm,520nm,525nm,635nm,650nm

Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele Some people like to use neodymium magnets that are 8mm or smaller to add a bump to them. I would still recommenced getting some with a proper button top.

    Another 495nm cfmod GH04955A2G

The G2 is definitely staying on my other 495. I ended up using a 3E on the cfmod just to tame the "box" since the "wings" were not too bad. The 'acrylic' lenses I have (in short plastic housings) from DTR look absolutely terrible to me; cant stand them at all. Are those acrylic? I like the 2E...

    Another 495nm cfmod GH04955A2G

Thanks, I went back and checked. I'm not sure which batch of diode he used in that one, but he set a flex drive to 220mA and measured 146mW. Also both of mine were using a g2 when testing.

    Survival Laser S4X duty cycle

Yep ↑ When I got my S4X it ended up being a lot bigger than I thought. Although not the same diode as yours; Im using an oclaro at 1.2A. When I get some time I might do a temperature test with a heat probe and some thermal camera shots. Im not very worried about it getting hot though :D
