Uhm, that was a general statement. Your laser can fall anywhere in that range depending on its output. 200mW units are closer to the 4.2 mark where as the 100mW units can run off of 3.0.

Green lasers typically require 2.6-4.2V to operate. Would be nice if you posted a link to the laser so we had an idea of what you're talking about.

I was thinking about this thread for a while today. Something similar had happened to me. When I'd turn my PC on, it would get stuck at the POST screen and just hang there. Something told me to unplug the pc from the wall and turn off the power supply for like an hour. I did that and it worked...
