There should be a significant difference between a 50mW and a 1mW... The only way to truly know the output of your laser is to test it with an LPM

I don't think anyone "hate"s you lol, I just thought it was funny. I'm very curious about that disco gadget. Any idea what it does exactly? Is it just diffraction gratings on a small motor? or is it some sort of handheld spiro?

Jay's famous!!! I've been seeing Jayrob's phaser everywhere! A friend even sent me a link to the video saying "now build one like this!" lol, I replied telling him that the creator of that phaser is a very active member of my favorite forum and if he want's to buy the parts I'll build it.

Welcome to the forum! May I ask what you'd be using this for? Laser scanners can be quite an expensive endeavor, be it DIY or store bought. I looked around to see if I could find you "caps" that project the alphabet but I found nothing. You would think that someone would make them *sigh*...
