    Sieg C0 Micro Lathe $73.00

Great news! For those who haven't seen this site Mini Lathe Setup, it has a lot of helpful info... how to clean, lubricate, dial in, etc.

    i feel like an idiot

I have a cheap DX green module that I pulled from a pen host, pot modded, and placed into a massive 2" heatsink. I have ran it twice at 30 minute cycles, and a bunch more times at a couple of minutes each time. It is my favorite greenie because I can't run my other greenies past the recommended...

    phr meet 2 buck chuck...

Nice pic. Probably sacrilege... maybe throw a couple of those jelly bellys into the wine and shine the beam onto them? I don't drink, but I like to torment my fish and watch the beam in the tank :eg:

Thanks for posting the lens spanner link! I've needed that tool but didn't know what it was called  . Once again, the system wouldn't let me leave you +rep.

    Sieg C0 Micro Lathe $73.00

Where does it say it can handle 1.75"? I can't seem to find that data. I have a 7x12 mini lathe and I have to switch jaws if I want to work on anything bigger than 1.5". IIRC, when I was checking this micro lathe out at the store, I didn't think it would handle even 1" stock. I hope I'm wrong...

    Sieg C0 Micro Lathe $73.00

I've seen these micro lathes before at the store, I don't remember them being this cheap though. They are definitely tiny, but for the price I suppose it is worth experimenting. As far as tools for the micro lathe, check out LittleMachineShop.com - tooling, parts, and accessories for bench top...

    Sieg C0 Micro Lathe $73.00

Unless it states online only it should be the same price as in the stores. There is a HF about 30minutes away from me, I can check it out on Monday for you.

    Headband for laser pointer

This is the headlamp I was trying to refer you to. It's a 3 Watt, not 1 Watt, sorry. I has an aluminum head that would be very easy to put a heatsink into. Unfortunately, all I can find is links that talk about it. I usually go into the home depots located close by because the items in stock...

    2" heatsink, 2x "C" host

Initial 532nm test results.. The module I installed was from a DX 5mW pen, with the big blue resistor. I cranked up the pot until it appeared brightest. It looks just as bright as my 50mW greenies, but not as bright as my 100mW units. I know, I need a Laserbee :(. IIRC I previously measured it...

    2" heatsink, 2x "C" host

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I read a post of his where he said he got rid of it. It was a beast too :( His blue RPL was even more awesome.

    2" heatsink, 2x "C" host

John is a great guy indeed. It was his RPL that he let me play with that gave me this idea. I had no idea how big those lasers were until after he showed me....never would've considered using C batteries in a build.

    2" heatsink, 2x "C" host

Thanks guys. I am going to do a time test on the green module that is in there now. After it dies, if it does, I have a sacrificial PHR that will take its place. Hopefully the PHR will net some decent results and I will feel brave enough to through an 8x in there and torture it a bit too. For...

    Headband for laser pointer

Home Depot sells a Husky, 1 watt, headlamp that you could easily modify. It could accommodate a lava drive, heatsink, and a red module. Push button on/off,3x AAA's, and it tilts up and down. Don't know why you would want to, but to each his own.

    2" heatsink, 2x "C" host

Looks like a microphone, I know. LOL The online metal place sent me the wrong order, and then let me keep it (a 2" diameter piece of Al). I wanted to make a custom host for it but I screwed that up.. I really need to learn how to thread on a lathe, the hand method is hard. Originally, I wanted...

    Dorcy Blu ray laser??

Nice build indeed, the Dorcy has always been one of my favorite choice of hosts. Using shims for stability is good advice. Erasers work well too.

    Anodisation / My DT CW

You may also want to consider anodizing the whole piece, then removing the anodize from the parts you want using little bit of Lye, water, and a Q-tip or small brush. External threads are a lot easier to do because you can simply set the Lye/water level to the height you desire using a small...

    Cool Knife.

Sorry, Seb, I disagree. I carry a pocket-sword that has successfully made some thugs reconsider aggression toward me...it was a "that's not a knife, this is a knife" kind of situation. It's better to carry something than nothing at all, IMHO. A good sharp knife is all it takes to make that one...

It shows the blu ray modification... where to trim the mount, the lens spacer, etc.

    Focusing Laser Host Deal

^^ When yours arrives, it will have a detailed pic of where to modify the diode mount. The diagrams shown above show a spacer ring used for a blu ray setup, but it isn't included.

    The Gun Show

^^ do you leave the 8x unfocused for general target acquisition? Or is it just on there for looks?.. since it can't be zeroed. Either way, it looks bad ass!
