Yes but it depends on the generation. :) I have several IR lights (880-940nm) and my device happens to like my 880nm the best. IIRC, the higher the generation the higher the wavelength it's able to detect.

Dave, My "old" eyes are quite different, I have no problem with the cooler colors but the warmer colors (especially red) just play heck with my eyes. I'll try to image a compairision with my 650 and 635 for your viewing pleasure. Ray

How about if I plug them dirrectly into the mains?

I don't know if it does, it's really hard to tell what's going on in the video but it's sure neat!
