De-Extinction: Good Idea or Huge Mistake?

I think it is a ridiculous idea. Let's try keeping the animals we already have alive. Tigers, elephants, bald eagles, sea turtles... et cetera Michael

Enough with Burning. LETS MAKE SOMETHING!

I was at that Energy in 2011, I posted a bunch of vids of the laser shows. the only problem with my vids was that my cam didn't pic up the bass too well. EONRD5rMYig this next one is a vid I took from a festival the day before Energy. Major crowd scanning in this one. pUZWj3L5jMg

Careful Who You Sell To and How You Sell!!!

While I do feel bad for sba's loss, it is a loss that all business owners take at some time. This is what happens when you leave the hobby side of things and try to get in to the money side. Risk vs Reward I guess. SBA, you should acquire all the threats, and photos and all relevant...

    Have I fried my diode?

lasers diodes are current driven devices, and current hungry. the rectangle 9v batts are 150mah rated... so you see, this wont drive a laser very long until the battery voltage falls out of regulation. now on to your alakalines.. standard AAA, AA, C, D batts in the store have more than enough...

    Laser Module advice

there are actually green modules. you can buy them everywhere. they are the usually brass with a driver attached, and no host. Michael.

    TEC TTL, Analog Modulation

ttl does not change total output of 1 single laser.. it is either on or off. But if you had 3 lasers full on, then ttl turns 1 off then yes, you would have less total power. analog, does vary the power from all the way off all the way to max set power. This is how 3 different colored laser can...

Yourlasers. Are you F***ing kidding me?

wouldn't "factory pot modding" just be "set at factory" Michael.

    TEC TTL, Analog Modulation

ttl and analog drivers have a secondary control voltage which is 5v. analog and ttl are both capable of very high speed switching. how about instead of all the back and forth you just say what you are trying to do, and we can help you accordingly. Michael.

    Have I fried my diode?

no i'm pretty confident it is a voltage problem and or a fried diode via direct drive. if you used 2 aa's in series with a drive you are no where near close enough in terms of voltage. I believe a 405 needs 4.5 v all to itself, and the driver needs like 1.25v. the rectangle 9v batts are pretty...

    Linear driver question

You didn't say what ld you would use it for but for 445 and 405 and more that you have to have minimum 2 3.7v cells if you're going to use a linear driver. The diodes alone use over 5 volts and the driver uses another volt or 2.

    Do not trust mattyd58!!!

I guarantee that this guy is not a lawyer. He has horrible grammar. That's unacceptable in court. No way he has 2 writing styles.
  19. chipdouglas

    Linear driver question

Not so much of the host as the issue. But a linear driver needs a lot of volts so you generall need a host capable of 2 3.7cells. Correct you do not need a dummy load for a linear driver. Just power source, dmm and adjustable driver.
