I was going to say, check out the general section for a low-profile heatsink made for motors that shoudl fit the aixiz, it may give enough clearance for some kind of airflow and still be a pointer.

I'm really tempted just to put a lowball bid in on one to see if its really gonna go for 25 bucks.

quick general question. Is there anywhere that you can get a lab-style heatsink alone or jsut a very cheap one? rather than pay 30 or 40 dollars for a module you're not gonna use anyway...

Re: Total noob to lasers, need some help picking o You shoudl be fine just using it, as long as you don't do anything stupid like point it at a plane/helicopter or anything like that. Most people use these lasers for doing just what you described, pointing at the sky and pointing out stuff etc...
