Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groove

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov Nah, I was looking at the PDF  and instructions here: http://hacylon.case.edu/laser/lavadrive1/ I suspected that the out side was the one with C1 and the diode, and the in was near the regulator and pot, but it just didn't work. I may order...

Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groove

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov I can't imagine you not selling out another run. I am very happy with my barrel (if not my (lack of) skill at getting a working setup built into it.) Those marble ones are just drop-dead gorgeous... I think I literally drool when I look at...

Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groove

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov Those things are friggin' gorgeous. The piece of antenna salvaged from my r/c car's broken remote worked for removing the diode, btw. not half brilliant. thanks.

Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groove

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov Thanks for the tip. I don't know why I didn't think of the pen spring. I went and bought an $8 mag-lite to LED clicky conversion kit... It looked like the clicky would fit in the head of the barrel with just enough room to spare for a wire...

Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groove

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov ok that previous post from bluray answered one of my questions... it's a Groove Driver? How are you guys connecting the + lead to the driver circuit?   I just received mine and am a little behind the times on putting these together... I'm...

Should I bring my laser to my homecoming dance?

Re: Should I bring my laser to my homecoming dance No way, dude. Just... Don't. Take a 5mw with you if you can't stand to be without, but nothing that can damage eyes. It's a recipe for disaster at a school.

Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groove

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov What good is that going to do you? How do you know he's not a midget? Or if he has hands that make an NBA player jealous... What's that going to do for scale?? :)

ebay item : SMD soldering/heat gun station

Hey guys. I'm posting a few of these up on ebay over the next week or two. No reserve on this one, it's the first. I'm just trying to get a good idea what they'll be going for... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300252856350

    GB laser barrels

Hope it's not too serious. I'm still waiting for mine.. To be honest I've lost a little interest since I have some $ issues that prevent me from spending a lot on parts nowadays... I saw that bit about the removal tool... Can you post a video of that? I'd hate to screw up the one I have, trying...

Laser Bans Announced Today, NSW Australia

Congratulations to Australia, for beating the USA to the punch. We do have some laws here on the books, but it's 'intentional interference of the operation of a vehicle vessel or aircraft" so possession is still OK, I guess. :-/

    transporting my blu-ray...

Heh. I never even thought of stickers. I did put a sticky note in there. It read, "home-made blue laser pointers." :D

    transporting my blu-ray...

Yeah, I WISH they'd just turned the thing on, said, ooh, pretty light, and had it be over... Examined, then searched. :) They were a few dozen feet away when checking my checked luggage with the first laptop and the lasers. I never did see them turn one on. I came back later, and as...

    question about blu ray visibility

I think that eye response chart is why they tried to paint fire engines that horrible shade of green for a while!

    transporting my blu-ray...

Yeah... I would not even try to carry a laser pointer with me as carry-on anymore. After a couple TSA people on another trip raised a stink about a little basic red one you can get anywhere... I just said screw it, check them from now on. I'd hate to have a 5mw greenie confiscated. Being...

    transporting my blu-ray...

No, this was in my checked baggage! :) Your Mileage May Vary if you don't test positive (falsely or otherwise) for explosives!

    transporting my blu-ray...

Yeah, I was bummed, especially since the hotel I was going to wouldn't sign for my UPS package. I suspect it would not have been as big a deal if my stuff hadn't set off the explosives detectors. But we'll never know! :)

    transporting my blu-ray...

I just thought you guys might get a mild kick out of my experience. I was flying out to MacWorld in January, eager to show my friend my home-made blu-rays... I'm at the airport... I have my laptop in my suitcase with two little black project boxes... each measuring 1 by 2 by 3 inches... guess...

    GB laser barrels

What mw level do they take them down at? With the PS3-salvaged diodes, they're usually within the legal limit anyway, aren't they? 10mw or so?

    GB laser barrels

I had my blu-rays in the little black project boxes wrapped up with electrical tape so they could easily dissect and see what was inside. That just made things worse. Not that they loved seeing the toggle and pushbutton switches either... Oh, and the laptop in my suitcase tested positive for...
