can i ask why you need 1Watt+ ? as someone first a first post its not likely someone will sell you something of this calibre. Do you own safety glasses for lasers ? a 100mW (legit, not a claimed 100mW from ebay) green will give you a striking bright beam that can cover that sort of distance...

remember with lasers you generally need 4x the power to get 2x the brightness, so an increase of what you have done wont give much visually, but extra burning is fun ! good work man :)

the beam of 100mW of 532 will not be visible in a well lit room at all, unless you use a fog machine :-) foggers are an excellent way of making lower visibility lasers ... quite visible ! 50mW 405nm for example under some fog looks amazing

basicially the answer is you use a multi mode driver from a flashlight. DealExtreme has a lot of these. they have modes such as high/med/low/strobe etc they are usually PWM moderated.
