I would almost say he's trying to make a laser boresight, which is also availble in stores, the only thing is I'm betting he's wanting to use it on a .22 which is a bit tricky to do unless you get a laser thats made into a round so that it could actually be chambered. Almost forgot if its a .22...

Well paul since you're stuck with a delima on a greeny, and your last post said $214, I'd say for out the extra cash and try to get into one of the GB's at least then you'll know you're getting a good laser.

On a different note, I wouldn't trust their safety glasses eitehr, got their 14.99 pair and some 18650's, have yet to use them, but the glases allow almost all teh red light through...my eagle pair that blocks 190-540 and 900-1700nm blocks more of the 660 then the o-likes do, oh and the chargers...

Just out of curiosity moh, but what battery are you using for the ak's to light your smokes with, I'd almost guess you',re using too much current and it's either dropping low enough to switch modes or its causing the inductor current to flucuate. Sorry for t he thread jacking.

I'd have no problem paying postage to have laser mailed. Remember in the US "If it fits, it Ships!" flat rate box.

Basicly it "HAD" 2 modes low and high and lumens is just a measure of brightness, to actually salvage teh drive may be a bit difficult.

I agree on the complexity and size parts, I was just stating that I was thikning with a closed mind rather then picturing a linear regulator as buck I was only thinking of the more complex inductor based DC-DC converter. Think of it as an over engineering stand point from my mind.

My bad, I was picturing the inductor tyoe of buck converter, like a boost converter but with a few parts swapped around, something that gives Vin > Vout and Iin < Iout compared to a boost converter where its Vin < Vout and Iin > Iout. I hope that makes sense, basicly I was picturing the fancy...
