Oh yeah, on the first picture theres two pots, I'm relatively sure you cant "pot" mod an argon, but what are they for if anyone knows? and theres a large magnet next to the tube, is it worth trying to put another on the other side for boosting it?
That answers one of my questions about interchange ability of JDSU tubes of similar models.
So all that remains is to determine if it’s my remote that’s not giving me max output or if it’s the tube on the blink, any ideas where I can tweak the mirrors on the head, I’m thinking the two small...
Dave,
This is whats -really- confusing me, earlier today I could clearly see 4 lines ranging from a greeny-blue colour to purple, then i fired it up again and only got purple and greeny-blue with no in-betweens...:wtf:
This is my new Argon, pics of inside of head for the purpose of identification of parts and head I think its actually a single line argon as per the model number on the back... :P
Just found out its too big for my laser head, it was down in inches and I don't do inches :P on that note if anyone knows where i can get a 120mm 110v or 230v axial fan with a CFM of 200 or higher let us know! :D
Hello.. again!
My argon laser needs a shiney new fan for the head, its a 120mm fan currently running on a seperate plug to my PSU, I've seen a 335cfm fan, but would that cause too much air pressure inside the head?
Just got this laser today and it fired up first time (after I realised the shutter was closed on the head... doh!) great beam! excellent price and packed really well, I haven't tested the ML on the unit yet as I don't have a good enough beam splitter!
If nothing else I got the PSU, so I can get...
Best way to explain is the info from Danasoft's site :P
"The cool thing about this graphic is that when people see it, they think their private information (like their city or IP address) is being publicly shown on your Myspace background, layout, blog, or forum, and they think that other...
whats so special about the 2214 and 2210s?
Thanks for the acronym explanation too :)
EDIT** Ignore me, I'm half asleep, the 2214 and 2210 should fit my PSU I got it, on that note i'm going to sleep :P
For what I paid Dave I'm more than happy, Happytomato made a very fair deal (imho) I dont think I'd get a PSU on its own shipped to me for what I paid.
Still, could I do what I posted previously, I know it might be a hit and miss way of doing things..
So what you're saying is I could (theoretically, ofcourse) take a tube from an SL head and put it into the ML head and it would be the same? or am I missing something?
JDSU was my first port of call for the new tube, then i was looking at refurb but knowing how the process works now its not cost effective at all and takes days to do it.
Just wondered if there was anyone here who might have a head or tube that fit the PSU, its not an issue, just I'd love to...
Dave,
I've got the laser head and the PSU, the head is actually multi line with few lines showing so I'm guessing I'll need a ML head not SL?
I'm still a newbie, so correct me if i'm wrong
I have two sets of southord 5 peice kits (i thought I'd lost one so got another.. then found the origonals!!!) and I can assure you you wont find much better quality out there for the price.
Trust me even with the best picks you can buy, you wont be breaking into any 5 pin locks for a while...
Personally I'd forget pot modding, you'll most likely just burn your laser out, and you won’t get much out a 5mw laser anyway, almost certainly not enough power to burn.
You’ll be better off building a DIY from scratch; Jayrob does some excellent DIY kits here on the forums.
As far as button...
