    RPL-300 vs RPL-375

That is the answer I wanted. I'm going to measure the peak and average output of the RPL-300. The adjustable tailcap is great, but I've actually been finding it a bit finicky. Sometimes it works perfectly, other times, I can't seem to turn it on. I don't know if this is because I'm not using it...

    RPL-300 vs RPL-375

Hauling around a baseball bat sized laser isn't really what I'm looking for. A good burn would be good. Taking the 20 seconds or so to light a cigarette is enough to make me quit. I think I'm going to see what my friends have in their labs that undergo photochemical reactions at 532 nm. They are...

    RPL-300 vs RPL-375

Ok, but here's the problem, how will people know that I am actually cooler since if had an RPL-375, since it's pretty hard to distinguish between the RPL-300. They both fire farther that I can see and are both way too bright for their own good. Maybe I should just get a blue laser and and my...

    RPL-300 vs RPL-375

I'm new to the laser world...green I guess. Here's my question. I bought a green RPL-300 very recently, and a few of my friends have expressed interest in buying something similar. They have more cash to blow than I, and I'm wondering what kind of differences there are between the RPL-300 and...

    NEW RPL-300 ARRIVED

I third that. I got an RPL-300 from him on Monday. It's been anything but disappointing. And great customer service too. I'll post some shot soon.

TechLasers - My opinion so far

Well, at this point in time, TechLasers has agreed to take my laser back and give me a refund. They also said that I could keep the batteries and safety glasses for free, when they get here, as a consolation. Although they mention that I should not expect to get them soon, since they sent them...

TechLasers - My opinion so far

Well I ordered 5 batteries from Techlasers. They didn't mind taking my money, and then not shipping them. Although they have since said that they are on the way. Somehow I wonder if they will actually arrive.

    Great forum

So far, we can light up water, and ruin a kids birthday party from across the room. What kind of fun, safe activities have you been up too? I remember in a physics class a about 8 years ago, the TA pointed a green laser through some sort of beam splitter or what have you, and lit up the whole...

    Great forum

Thanks for the welcome. When I told my friends that I was buying a laser. They all asked "why? What are you going to do with it?" What do you guys do with your lasers? There must be lots of applications that I haven't thought of, or haven't been thought of yet. Actually, I did mention that I...

    Green Lasers at Radio Shack

Years back I bought a red laser pointer from radioshack that died before the red laser I bought from the dollar store. I talking about 2 weeks. Sometimes you get what you pay for, at the dollarstore, not so much at radioshack.

What will these safety glasses save me from?

Thanks for recommending that I don't take a direct shot into the lenses. You guys are so caring it just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I wasn't planning on doing so, but are there actually glasses available that are up to spec to save one from taking a direct shot in the eye from a...

New to the LPF and looking for power burn!!!

I'm new to the forum, but from my limited experience, I can at least suggest you talk to the man that runs optotronics, even if you end up deciding on buying from a different company. He has a toll free number. He took the time to speak to me about my specific needs and he seems to know what...

    Great forum

I just joined a few days ago. I wish I had joined sooner. I'm really impressed at how active this forum is. I had no idea that there were this many laser geeks out there. I'm studying chemistry in Montreal, so I have a few friends that work in laser labs, but they don't do it fun. I think I'll...

What will these safety glasses save me from?

I borrowed (yes, really borrowed, not that permanent kind of borrowing) a pair of safety glasses from a co-worker. His lab uses lasers, but he doesn't work with them himself. I've ordered an RPL-300, and I'm thought I'd ask you guys if these goggles are appropriate. The specs that are written...

    My experience with TechLasers:

5 days? hah. Big deal. They took 10 days to tell me that what I had ordered wasn't in stock. Offered to sell me something that was in stock that they could ship right away, and THEN they took five days to ship mine. I'll have mine shipped back to them in a fraction of the time they took to ship...

TechLasers - My opinion so far

And an RPL-300 with tail cap I am actually borrowing a pair of glasses from a laser lab. I don't have them on hand, but I'll post the specs (in the proper forum) because I'm not sure how adequate these glasses are. They cost $500 apparently, and cover somewhere around 130 nM to 532 nM.

TechLasers - My opinion so far

Yay! I'm ten posts old. So I've already ordered a unit from Optotronics. My CC actually extends all warranties by 1 year. And my I've spoken to a few people at dispute resolutions VISA, and they seem pretty confident that I can get what I want or send it back without too much trouble. And the...

TechLasers - My opinion so far

So TechLasers gave me an RMA and told me to ship the laser back to them and that they'd ship a new one to me with better packaging. Also, they said that they would ship the batteries and goggles that I ordered as well. So, I guess this is ok. Better response than what I was expecting.
