Yes, they use the fiber pump modules in the NIR range, the kind used in industry to pump active fiber lasers, only with the fiber coupling optics removed and a beam expander lens arrangement added.
The pump modules are knife edge arrays, so you won't hold a tight focus over long distance like Drakes active fiber build, but for 50 meters they can be fun burners, but they also have horrific blinding potential so be careful.
Thanks RC. That's what I thought it was. Now -- If I remove the fiber connector, how fast does that beam diverge?
I think I saw someone here report that he had to enlarge the orifice with a drill. I can/t find his post..
Do you remember the location of that project?

Hello. I have free time and decided to assemble a portable IR laser with a power of 260W. For this I will use this laser pump which needs 29V and 18A power. This is new to me so I'll probably need some help. I also ordered a compatible lens that mounts on the array and will probably have good focus at about 5-6 meters. In the future I will buy another one that can have a longer focus.. Everything will be in a box again. There will be cooling with a powerful fan and the array will be attached to an aluminum radiator. At the moment I have not selected a suitable driver and power...
