    DPSS Question: What input wavelength?

Hurr durr I'm getting my terminology mixed up. My laser is just PSS and I'm pumping it with Xenon flashtubes, not a laser diode.

    DPSS Question: What input wavelength?

Title correction: PSS question, not DPSS :) Hey guys!! Lurking forever, I know. Joined a while back. I've begun working on my mini-PSS laser (ND:Glass with Xenon flashtubes)... I have the flash tubes and the unit nearly assembled, but then I started thinking... What particular wavelength(s)...

LtSurge - First Laser Gun (Burning Yellow)

You need a great big solid-state Ruby laser, pumped with a big ol flashbulb. Many watts in, all out in a split second. Will burn, many Gilettes of power. But it's dark red.

    20amp 2.0v driver for 808nm diode bar - help !!

Interface with this sucker: Currently, one of my projects. (Warning: VRM 8.3 ONLY! Newer versions are all V1-1.85V, VRM 8.3 is up to 3.3v!) http://www.intel.com/design/pentiumii/xeon/designgd/24387002.pdf

    vacuum and high voltage

The "sputtered" gunk is actually burned oil vapor from the vacuum- Been there, done that :)

tackling a DIY COIL O2/I2 chemical laser for fun

I've got a metal vapor project stirring up- I've been making vapor deposited crystals of metals up to silver for some time now!!

    "Super"cooling a laser?

What you should do is put the TEC between the evap unit and diode. Pump all the heat out of the diode, with the hot end of the TEC at -(whatever)*C. That'll be your best arrangement- I'm doing something similar with a Stirling cryocooler :) (sorry if idea is repost- TL:DR comments)

    Identifying output by physical attributes

Has anybody thought of carefully electroplating gold/copper across those leads, shoring them up significantly? Could be done easily, considering water's surface tension.

Magnitude smagnitude :) Uranium metal is easy to get, but thorium metal... That's a few smagnitudes harder :) Thorium salt is about all you'll ever find, if that... I came across Thorium Nitrate some time ago- Stocked up!! I make pretty crystals :) Your best source for the metal would be thorium...

(laser newbie) Anyone familiar with the power regulation circuits used in processors?

Greetings! Long time reader, long time PC repair technician and mad scientist; first time laser DIY. Just checking to see if anybody is familiar with the power regulation daughterboard of Intel's Slot2 processors- They accept 5/12V input, and are rated for output up to 50W of super-clean...
