Quick update: School keeps me so dang busy, I keep forgetting to mail the module back to DTR. I swapped drivers, no luck, so DTR is gonna press in a new diode for me, if I can get the blasted thing over to him...:yabbem:
I labeled everything right after this snafu, hope it keeps it all straight for me now!
Thanks! Nice to know I inspired you to try your hand at it. I still need to get this module sent back to DTR, school keeps me so busy, I keep forgetting to mail it...:yabbem:
It lit for a split second with the too high voltage batteries in, and nary a photon has she emitted since. Didn't even get a Zombie, just KIA.
That is awesome, I appreciate it! I will get with you and arrange to send it your way soon. Thanks!
Damn! That is a veritable diode graveyard you...
Ok so, some of you recall I built a pair of lasers not long ago, a 445nm and a 462nm. I put the wrong batteries in the 445nm (derp), and killed it. Question now is just how I killed it. I thought it was the driver, Mohrenberg was cool enough to set another up for me and shipped it to me. I...
Super lucky! She likes guns, fishing, couldn't really ask for better :D
I don't know for certain power output, but if I had to gauge by what DTR has shown for each diode at the current I have them, the 405nm is set at 600mA, so maybe 900mW. The 445nm is running 1.2A, so maybe 1.4W. The 462nm...
It's all good! Mohrenberg and I are looking at the easiest way to get me fixed. Stand up guy! I'll buy a new driver and be back in business soon enough. Besides, I got the 405nm together for the wife, she is most pleased! Need to get some pics later, gotta get some studying in tonight. Osseous...
I am loving the trap! And because of the big one you made, now I want a couple 12" ones myself, to run a nebulizer into. The fog idea was a good one, never occurred to me until you mentioned it.
And things aren't all bad for sure. The 462nm is awesome, and I'm getting ready to assemble a 405nm...
Thanks! It is an awesome sight for sure, I did not have a true appreciation for what these can do until I saw them for myself.
LOL! Hoping to avoid that at all costs, guaranteed!
Thank you sir! And thank you for the excellent products and service. :worthy:
Well I have some bad news... Got both of these out to show a family member, put the battery in the 462nm, put the batteries in the 445nm.... and that's the issue. You see, the 462nm uses 2x 16340 batteries, while the 445nm is only supposed to have one 18650 :(
Pretty sure I smoked the driver. I...
Well folks! I have finally taken the leap and ventured into Class 4 territory. Thanks to DTR and Mohrenberg, I am the proud owner of two 501B hosts, one housing a 445nm A-type M140, the other a 462nm M462. I must say, I am overly impressed with what I have assembled! Intense beams, super bright...
Just throwing my couple cents in here... Lots of good ideas here. The idea of spreading the prizes out over multiple months may keep people interested, and keep a steadier flow of donations coming in. There was mention of 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, that's cool too, gives everyone that enters each...
Re: New Host Available for Pre-Order: The Survival Laser S4X
Ok that is super cool! Looks like you'll have me working another project soon. Great idea guys!
Dang GSS, that thing sounds like a beast! You will be able to aim into that from a pretty wide angle if you want. Post some pics if you can, I'd like to see it, I bet it is pretty cool. I Like the idea of the tile acting as both your backstop and a stabilizer to keep it from rolling, ingenuity...
