I have that artifact on both myself. I assumed it was something idiosyncratic to the diodes. (I'll have to turn the end cap and see 😉) I think the 492 may be a bit lower because its so miniscule a difference I can only tell when they're moving. I tested both on my CHEAP lpm and both were right...
It's such a subtle difference plus these diodes are identical and I'm sure they're the same ones Paul's run spectral analysis on. It seems anywhere between 487 and 495 I think.
I love your posts. They're some of the best. I've looked at some of your stuff regarding those 487-495 diodes. I love them. I'll be watching for your 465 post for sure. Meanwhile, check out my next post. I got some nice Sanwu beam shot video and put it on YouTube. :)
Edit: Here it is -
Its been a long time and I wasn't on long. I've made some purchases recently because the industry has become so exciting over the past few years! I've lurked a bit ever since because I have nothing of value to contribute but I may be asking some questions! You guys are the best brains to pick...
I figured as much myself. :yh: I really like the appearance myself. It's possible it may have a built in modulation capability, but I doubt it - I never get lucky.
I'll post some pics and such anyhow!
I just found this on fleabay tonight...
Helium Neon laser | eBay
It was almost too cheap so I was apprehensive. There's no model # given but the minimum cost on i-fiberoptics.com is $350.00! So, seeing the good feedback for the seller coupled with the fact that they seem to sell miscellany, I...
