    Liquid Heatsink Material

After talking with a couple thermal engineers, I found this topic is actually a current leading edge effort, and there isn't any solution that's far ahead of the pack. Thermal compounds are typically in the 1 to 4W/m-k range. Here's an example of one of the more conductive materials...

    Liquid Heatsink Material

I appreciate all the discussion and suggestions. I plan to ask some of the thermal engineers at work, and see what they say. I'll report back what I learn. No doubt a machined chunk of copper or aluminum is by far the best.

    Liquid Heatsink Material

The caulk idea is interesting, but I'd want to check out the thermal characteristics first, and see if it is mainly dissipative, as opposed to insulating. The trick is to avoid locking in the heat that the heatsink soaks up.

    Liquid Heatsink Material

Is there a decent thermal epoxy or similar material that can be used to fill out space in a host between an off the shelf heatsink and the head cavity of the host? What I'm thinking is that there might be a way of utilizing existing laser module heatsinks, rather than machining new ones, by...

    532nm DPSS--Jet Lasers or Laserbtb

Okay, I have yet another question: Does the Jet Lasers model have adjustable focus?

    532nm DPSS--Jet Lasers or Laserbtb

Definitely no need for apology. The more safety is brought to mind, the better. I'm leaning toward the Lastbtb unit, but are there expander/collimators available that fit it? I could make one, but it's not cost effective unless I can scrounge some blemished lenses for free.

    532nm DPSS--Jet Lasers or Laserbtb

All of this helps, and is much appreciated. My experience (as related to lasers), since the question was asked: I've worked with lasers for about 37 years, starting with a Hughes 15mE HeNe laser, and my own home built sandbox optics lab, where I did experiments, and made holograms. I'm an...

    532nm DPSS--Jet Lasers or Laserbtb

I am planning to buy a 532nm DPSS laser. I've narrowed my choices to two: 1. Laserbtb PL532 - 700, 700mW, $738 2. Jet Lasers PL-E Pro 532nm, 800mW, $730 1 has key lock, interlock, focus adjust, and is smaller. 2 has more rated power for about the same price I like the features and...

I did a little reading, and noticed there are frequent group buys with laserbtb. Any plans for another in the near future?

I haven't found any independent power test reports. Are these guys okay? Are their specs accurate? High Power Blue, Red, and Green Laser Pointers | SKY Technologies Inc.
