:)Hello.
This post will be about my newest project.Named it RetroSaber. It's going to be a handheld 1 watt 445nm laser powered by 3*cr123 880mAh 3,7volt batteries.
Well I'm still waiting the diode(Ther where some problems with transportation lately,here....:()...
As a host I used...
Well, the lens for the 405/445 module housing are the Aixiz 405/445nm "A" type single coated AR, triple glass element, half threaded (M9x0.5) lens..Very good round dot for the 445 diode....
P.S. One big minus of that module housing is that you cannot attach a focus ring to the standart aixiz lens...
I'm using these modules for my projects. These modules are industrial spec housings. There are far superior in heat handling/cooling than any other brass module (...like aixiz). You MUST though follow certain rules ...:D
1)USE THERMAL PASTE.Apply Thermal paste(preferably that silver or copper...
Re: 445nm A130 Lens Comparisons!
About laser lens coatings:
It seems that there are only 3 types of coatings, named a,b and c.
"A' type AR coating -MgF2- is a yelloish or reddish if multiple layers(405 G1 is yellow tinted while multilayer AR coated G2 is red tinted)
covers from ~400nm up to...
Yes,you are absolutely right...Still it is a decent driver isn't it?I mean it's nowhere near perfect ,but still it can drive a 445 without burning the little monster...BTW ElektroFreak reported a 445 running at 1 watt 24/day for 4 weeks straight....Do you think that this driver will kill that...
I might be wrong, but I think that a diode that is made to work with(or at least withstand...) 1 A current ,maybe it also has better durability in current spikes, regulation ripples and other nasty bad habits electrons have...
also i think it makes it less sensitive to static...
Well i don't...
...:pthat driver is the one used in most cree type torches from DX
the output current depends on load used...(800mA-1.2 A) as long as input voltage is higher from Vf of diode...
" (from DX reviews)
Pros: It works on a single Li-ion or a 12v battery.
It drives between 1 to 1.2A (depends on...
Well, that maybe true, but i tested it many times on/off and no spikes. It also has a soft-start function, from what my multimeter recorded....
After some more testing i found that also it has a soft -off function also.
i recently got this torch to use as a host for my 1 Watt 445 nm handy
DealExtreme: $24.69 Aurora X-06-3 Cree P4-WC 120-Lumen LED Flashlight with Assault Crown (3*CR123A)
I've tested the LED driver of this torch with a dummie load(5x N4007,1 ohm resistor). It gives 1,090 amps and the voltage...
Den vlepo giati eimai ligo trelos...
explain...
oh, no matter the rate...if you are in lack of money....
Some daylight (bad)pics together with my 100mW 532nm green...
Bought four of these diodes for $ 8.00 each from e-bay.Same source of my SF AW 210 supply...these small ones are quite tough ,thats for sure..
Lately i'm out of cash...pretty messed up here in my country, lots of unemployment,so I will not have the oportunity to soon own a 445nm laser...
