Laser illumination of satin spar obelisk

    Wanted to see how my phone camera would do with taking some photos. I illuminated a satin spar obelisk with some of my lasers here are the results: The obelisk: 650nm: 445nm: 650nm + 445nm: 532nm: 532nm + 445nm: 532nm + 650nm: 589nm: 589nm + 445nm: 589nm + 532nm: I did try both 589nm...

    Hello, it has been awhile!

These 573nm really have my attention now too. I assume it is still a mystery outside of the manufacturer as to what the pumped SFD crystal is? I wonder how susceptible they are to degradation. The allure of having a pure yellow SFDDPSS laser in my collection is attractive. Exciting to see what...

    Hello, it has been awhile!

Thanks! Well, if you are wanting to add yellow to your collection, now is the best time I have ever seen to do so. I am still shocked that you can get 593.5nm for so cheap. But I love my 589nm, like holding a ray of sunshine in your hand. You won't be disappointed when you get any of these...

    Comparison of 515nm and 532nm

Thanks! That was taken with my canon eos 30d. I had moved and my camera bag with my camera, lenses and diffraction gratings was stolen and I haven't taken photos since that happened. Pissed me off big time but was thinking about getting a new fog machine and see how these new fancy phone cameras...

    Comparison of 515nm and 532nm

Going through some of my old photos, here is a comparison between my 100mW 532nm and 31mW 515nm. 🍻

    Hello, it has been awhile!

Thanks! I have seen that wavelength as well and it is on my radar. I will probably go 593.5nm first because I really love both the 589 and 593.5 and I have wanted a 593.5 to go along with my 589 for a long time. But the lemon yellow does have my attention as well. 🍻

    Donating to LPF

10 years ago I joined this forum to learn and share in my passion for this hobby. It lead me to interact with some really knowledgeable and interesting people that even lead to me acquiring my most prized laser in my collection from one of the members here. I am happy to donate to support this...

    Hello, it has been awhile!

Thanks! Yeah, when I had the chance to acquire the spartan 50 589 long ago, I had to do it and so glad I did because now they are so hard to find. And when I recently saw yellows being sold for stupid cheap I was baffled as to how and why. But adding 593.5 was my other big want after the 589...

    Hello, it has been awhile!

I was looking at Tinker's 591-P 30mW pen-style to add another wavelength to my collection. I assume this is actually 593.5nm which I would prefer anyway. And if it is anything like my 589nm it won't like being cold so I would imagine the pen host would be advantageous and I don't need long duty...

    Hello, it has been awhile!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I am confused as well with the current development and with the 593.5nm modules being what has reappeared. I would have also expected it to be the 589nm variant. But sounds like a win for yellow admirers for sure. 🍻

    Hello, it has been awhile!

Haven't been here in a long time so just saying hello. I have recently noticed very affordable yellow DPSS lasers on the scene now. What change of circumstances lead to this? For so long one of the only makers of these as far as I knew was CNI laser and due to the complexity and lack of...

Pulled out my Spartan 589nm today for a LPM run

Thanks, and yes no sound and stable with an average near 100mW or so. She peaks at 112mW. Sorry for it being hard to read, I previewed it in full screen and could read it easier on my computer. 🍻 Here is a graph from when I ran it not long after I acquired it 4 years ago. Still performing...

Pulled out my Spartan 589nm today for a LPM run

Hello everyone! Been a very long time since I posted and was bored today so thought I would blow the dust off my Spartan and run her on my LPM with a new Samsung 30Q. Here is the results and some photos! Needless to say I am still very proud to be a caretaker of one of these beauties! Happy Lasing!
