Hi everyone, it's been awhile since my last post here, but I'm now working as a post-doc doing multiphoton lithography with femtosecond lasers.
We're trying to raise funds for our research group at UT Austin since proposals have not been funded. I've been given the green light by the...
Oh I'm only talking about the package going to / from Hong Kong once I send it off again to Sanwu. I'll disassemble and wrap it up tight like they did. The trip from your state to mine should be pretty uneventful.
Paul did a great job. My biggest fear is the package getting stuck at the black hole known as ISC Chicago. The laser passed through there the first time without issue, but others have reported delays lasting weeks, or packages simply lost.
I sent a PM to Paul, but I also wanted to thank him publicly for his hard work. The laser was actually advertised as 1000 mW, so it's only putting out half the power. I chose a G2 lens as well, which should have the lowest amount of loss. Once I get it back from Paul, I'll send it back to Sanwu...
It's funny you say that, because I had to talk to the police last year while I was out with my laser. I found a man face down on the golf course at around 3 am, barely breathing. I called 911, and the paramedics came 10 minutes later, driving down the golf course in two vehicles before getting...
What I do is not recommended, but it's the best balance I can find between fun and safety. I go out to a golf course after 2 am, when there is little chance of a plane or helicopter flying overhead. I point at the trees, which are pretty tall in my area and I enjoy the beam that way. One thing...
Lots of comments on Page 2 that I didn't see, so I'll try to answer them all here.
I'm fairly confident in the test at the Petawatt facility because I got reasonable output from my LaserBTB 200 mW which typically yield 300 mW. If it were under 200 mW, I could have been more concerned. However...
I do appreciate the offer to replace it if defective. Your company has always had excellent customer service, and I continue to recommend Sanwu to people interested in buying portable lasers.
One thing I was worried about was the time it would take to ship to HK and back again, with the risk...
Yes, I trust that Paul will do an excellent job. Like you said, calibration could be off on the LPM since it's not used very often at the lab. I'll hold back criticism of the product until the results come back. The 3W spiker was excellent, and I'm very impressed by the build quality of Sanwu...
Thank you Paul. Sanwu wanted me to test other batteries as well, and I think an independent test with a different meter and different batteries showing the same result would be very convincing. Since you're a well-known member, I think your test would also carry more weight than mine. I would...
It's very frustrating since I showed the the photos, the meter, and explained how it was tested, yet they don't believe the test. We've talked before and I trust you as a member. If I ship my laser to you and pay for return shipping, would you be willing to test it out? If you don't have time...
