There is something wrong with your site. "Add to cart" goes straight to paypal, and it will only let me order one thing at a time. I want a laser AND a driver.

    Cyonics 2201-15SLB

That reminded me of something I saw, once. Here was this guy driving an '80's Buick Riviera, and he had it all dressed up, with big, fat, slicks on the back, and those tiny, thin, rail like tires in the front, for drag racing. It looked good on the car, but I had to wonder if this idiot knew...

    Cyonics 2201-15SLB

Yeah, now I have three cool argon lasers without power supplies. Does that mean I strike out?

    Cyonics 2201-15SLB

I got my power supply today, at least it's supposed to be a power supply: Cyonics Laser Power Supply Model 2201-40MLA | eBay But there doesn't seem to be any way to plug it into the wall, some #2201-40MLA. But I don't see how this is going work. I think they sent me another laser. Godddammmit!

    Yvo4?

Call me stupid, but what is this used for when pumped with a 1550nm diode? I know that KTP+YVO4 pumped with an 808nm diode makes 532nm, and in that case the crystal is a frequency doubler. But I don't know what this combination does, and I'm very curious.

    Cyonics 2201-15SLB

I have an MDQ-200A, full wave bridge rectifier, that will do it, but I don't know how to go about current regulating it, other than possibly just using a 10A circuit breaker. Everyone should have a 1600V, 200A, full wave bridge rectifier, they come in so handy at times. I arc weld 6011 rods with...

    Cyonics 2201-15SLB

I have 2 of these, without the power supplies. I have no idea what they came out of. From what I could gather, these are 488nm Argon lasers. The power supplies I've seen are really pricey. Anyone have any thoughts on what to do with these? I want to light one up really bad. I'm considering...

    NUBM44 + 4.5A driver on 2 AA's

Yes and no. The usb charger I have is made to charge 2 in series, although I usually use my Imax B6 for all my batteries. But in addition, I have a pcb installed in my build. I don't think it balances, but it will cut off if the cells go out of balance. They do have pcb's with balancing, though...

    NUBM44 + 4.5A driver on 2 AA's

Here is my phaser with the battery cover off, showing off the dinky batteries that I got away with using, and the cute little usb charger that I got for it. Although this is a lithium charger, I'm only using it like this as a boost mode charger, to charge from a 5v usb bus, I have a...

    NUBM44 + 4.5A driver on 2 AA's

I'm running 2 switches on it. The first is a sliding dpdt that I first stuck one end of to the inside of the host shell with some ca glue, then filled hot melt around it to help keep it in place. I took the the knob on the top, and drilled a hole through the center of it, and carved out a square...

    NUBM44 + 4.5A driver on 2 AA's

Whew, that's a relief. I knew what multimode diodes did before I invested in this one, I was expecting divergence, it is what it is. I know it can be corrected with a bunch of optics, but I don't really have room for that, and I like it well enough like it is. Maybe one of these days, someone...

    Lithium batteries: the essential basics.

That was one of the many resources I studied when I was learning up on the subject, along with everything else I could find. It was sort of a study project of mine, once. I thought I could condense it down to something I could post, and so I did. Most of you already know about the batteries, but...

    NUBM44 + 4.5A driver on 2 AA's

Yeah, about 2 minutes, that's right. But that's enough for a laser pointer, and I have 2 sets of batteries for it, anyway. It doesn't run it for long, but it runs it! That's pretty impressive, I thought. I don't know what to make of the divergence, don't they all do that? I bought the module...

    561nm?

That green color associated with radiation is actually the color that glass takes on when it's doped with uranium. And Uranium doped glass glows in the dark, too, that's where the green glow myth comes from. It's not the radiation, it's the Uranium itself. Uranium gets guilt by association...

    NUBM44 + 4.5A driver on 2 AA's

Easier said than done, I have enough trouble getting a focused shot even when I use the tripod. But I have a beamshot video. https://youtu.be/YUpjrIfNkME
