Dark sunglasses? There's your problem. Sunglasses to pretty much nothing to protect your eyes from a laser. You should definitely be wearing proper laser eye protection, like LaserShades from Wicked Lasers, NOVA Shields from Nova Lasers, or NES-Shades from nes_ds.

Nah, not a problem with Java. The server is just not allowing you to connect to it. Try some other servers on the same network, such as travisbsd.irc.ecnet.org or psuedo-servers.irc.ecnet.org, or use http://www.ecnet.org/chat/.

I think the silver one is the silver-style NewWish. The 20mW one looks just like a Spymode, so I'd beware. Spymodes seem to be infamous for having no IR filter at all, as well as being of very poor quality.

That is one small balloon. Did you Sharpie it? If not, you definitely should, especially since it is a green balloon.

Re: 3V 350ma Wall Plug! $1.99! Actually, no. The "switching" actually refers to the method of voltage regulation used. It is definitely a continuous DC power supply here, so no diode would be needed.

I did the same thing with my Pulsar 125. I put a black dot on the back of my wrist and lit it with my Pulsar focused with a lens. It really stung. I also tried it on a mole on my leg. It also stung, but not as bad as the Sharpie dot. Also, interesting read from Wikipedia -
