I really want to build this, but by the time I get the diode, and the kit, plus goggles, I am looking close to around 250-300 USD which I don't know if that is worth it, would be sweet, but idk, I can buy a lot of cool stuff with that
I would almost like to just do the same setup you did, but lowering the current a little bit to help with heat and diode life, what did it cost shipped to get the setup you did, besides the diode and batteries, just the jayrob kit
That is pretty good, I was reading through all the documentation that DTR put up and I can't figure out how he managed to get the diode to push 1.6 watts out peak, and even stable around 1400mw, what did he do differently?
If I have the microboost set at about 1000ma, what can I expect for output with the laser after the 445 lens? I kinda see its about 1100mw, but I want your opinion, I want a good amount of power, yet I don't want the unit to die 3 days after I use it, lol
Also from my understanding it would be...
Thanks for the info, so I will tell jayrob that I want to have mine microboost set at 1,200ma and then I just gotta put this beast together! Do you think the aluminum heat sink will work good enough on the driver, or should I get the copper one, I would really like to not spend that extra 24...
Here is the part where I am getting lost, I can't find the voltage that these diodes run at, I imagine that the flex drive or microboost will output the correct voltage and by changing the amperage it will cause it to output more power, but I can't seem to find what amperage put out what amount...
Yea, I think maybe I should just get it from jay, it would cost about 10 more bucks to have it mounted and all ready to go, would you recommend maxing out the driver at 1000mw?
Thanks a bunch for the 2 other comparison pictures, that helped a lot, last question, what current would you have it set too, I want to push about 1400mw, I would like 1600 but I imagine that will greatly reduce the diodes life, so I could be very happy with 1400mw, or heck even 1200mw, but what...
ok, your right, he does have them in stock, so If I got
* SS 18650 basic kit - $55 (host/heatsink/drill the pill)
* Add 'Hot' option - $48 (let me know the current setting)
* Copper heatsink upgrade - $12
* 1/2" Custom Copper Module - $25 (is this worth it?)
Now do I get this one?
* Knurled...
