FS: One of a Kind Laser Lighter - Smokin' Hot!

Agreed... :) But this was one of those sledge hammer for a walnut projects. Not quite Rube Goldberg; but along those sort of lines. ;)

FS: One of a Kind Laser Lighter - Smokin' Hot!

If you plan on machining some heatsinks yourself; make sure you buy 6083 (or 6061) alloy, preferably T6 grade. As this is best suited to machining, gives good strength and has good thermal conductivity.

FS: One of a Kind Laser Lighter - Smokin' Hot!

Well... It's still for sale, so BUMP! All offers welcome (in any currency! £, €, $! ;)) The price listed at the top is very negotiable. Like I said, it's been sat in a drawer for several months, so I'd like to sell it and see it go to a good home and put to some use. There is nothing to stop...

FS: One of a Kind Laser Lighter - Smokin' Hot!

Based upon Rog's design, I set about making a laser lighter as one of those "would it be possible" projects. Tweaking the concept slightly and improving various aspects I came up with the finished project. It was made nearly 6 months ago, but has never been used since, so after a summer clear...

FAKE 150mW Nichia diodes being sold

I just thought I'd chime in: Looking 100% solely from the information on the datasheets I've managed to dig up: Nichia DO NOT make a 150mW 405nm diode (CW) They DO however make a 120mW 405nm diode (CW) LASER DIODEs : NICHIA Corporation Now... BEGIN FACTS: (as per the Chinese 150mW datasheet)...

    FS: 7x12 Mini lathe

A 7x12" lathe mean 7" max diameter possible before the workpiece will foul the bed, and a maximum of 12" length. However, don't expect to get some 7" bar and clamp it straight in! It all down to the chuck. The stock chuck will be an 80mm/3" 3 jaw chuck. You can add larger ones such as a 4" or...

    FS: 7x12 Mini lathe

Looks nice. :) I'd stick a powerfeed on your Christmas list if I were you ;) All the best, Dan

    FS: 7x12 Mini lathe

Bob, yes; have a look at the "Sieg C0". They are 99% available as a manual lathe, but 1 company has retrofitted steppers to this tiny lathe, to make a very very mini CNC lathe. Or perhaps a small unimat or even a watchmakers lathe for really small stuff. Personally, I'd buy the biggest lathe...

    FS: 7x12 Mini lathe

Yep, you'll need the following: - Set of allen keys - Degreaser - Plastic trays - Paint brush - A good old strong cuppa tea and a few hours spare ;) All the best, Dan

    RED & 808nm 1-5 WATT LASER DIODES & MORE CHEAP!!~

'ello all :) I just thought I'd let you all know that myself and CMD have finished a few more of the chunk heatsinks especially for the 9mm diodes. They will be just what you need to keep these high power diodes nice and cool ;) They retail at $25 a piece + a flat shipping rate of $2.50 The...

    FS: 7x12 Mini lathe

I didn't doubt that for a second; I'm just pointing out what needs to be done to whoever buys it. ;) Dan

    FS: 7x12 Mini lathe

I'm surprised no one has picked up on this yet... Jake, The red packing grease, or 'chicken fat' as the people in the factory that make the mini lathes nickname it, really is *packing* grease. The lathe must not be run for any period of time with the grease still in place. It's main purpose is...

FS: Direct Diode Heatsinks - The 'Chunk' series

Doug, the merideth lens will not fit, and I don't currently have the time to machine a one off. However Jayrob's lens WILL fit; give one a try ;) By the way: Atached is a photo of the new 9mm chunks. All the best, Dan

FS: Direct Diode Heatsinks - The 'Chunk' series

Re: FS: Direct Diode Heatsinks - The 'Chunk' serie Yep, that's right. What CMD said, 6 of them are going to be precision machined for the 9mm diodes. Expect the same great press fit as the 5.6mm diode big chunk heatsinks do. Are there any other diode packages that people would like a heatsink...

FS: Direct Diode Heatsinks - The 'Chunk' series

Re: FS: Direct Diode Heatsinks - The 'Chunk' serie The design is in and sealed.  8-) A small batch will be in for production shortly... strictly limited quantities will be available for the next couple of months at least. Pre-orders welcome to secure an MXDL "Huge" chunk for 9mm diodes. All for...
