Questions about operating principle of show lasers

I only know some conceptual thinking, so if I suggest something dubious, just throw something at me....I'll go away. But I would ask two things of myself, how professional of a unit would I want to make and second, is this something an Arduino or a Hardkernel ODROID could be adapted to be used...

Lipo battery for running an NUBM37

Yes, it's a cool unit I agree. The simplicity of setting it / adjusting it to an output is by far less trouble than turning and balancing POTs on one of the manual adjust boosters, which was a real PIA to do. I've set it up to dump an output of 50v into 8.1ohms, at 6.2a, at 308w. That is an...

Lipo battery for running an NUBM37

I ordered mine the same day you posted them. I have had lots of trouble with USPS lately. Mostly out of Rocky Mount, NC..... Yeah, as long as there is an input, it's on the output. Then you select 0-9 memory location, set it up, then can select the setting ON/OFF or AUTO. When turning on a...

Lipo battery for running an NUBM37

I received two of these and they are pretty cool. Did you play with yours yet? I don't like that the output cannot be turned off completely.

Now I can do 30 volts at 30 amps

The problem I am having is using my Constant Current Dual "Side by Side" 30-volt 5-amp power supply to drive a DC boost driver at outputs of 50 volts at 6-ish amps, or even 98 volts at 3-ish amps, so that I can light up MLD's like the NUBM37, which is 4 strings of 6 series diodes. That whole...

Look for the bright green laser to repel the birds in the daytime.

Very visible to humans may not be very visible to fowl....or visa versa.... But there's no more need to point a laser at a bird than there is to point a laser at a human. Don't point lasers at living things. Bad idea.

NUBM34 Laser Blaster - 115+ Watts of Intense Blue Photons

Nice. I am finishing up mounting my newly arrived NUBM34 and hopefully get it working here soon. I also ordered 4 of those 60V drivers, and two were DOA. Two of them seemed to work, but I'm using a different driver all together.

Lipo battery for running an NUBM37

I am going to usi two 1.6 mAh RC batteries that have balancing connectors to drive my CC driver for the NUBM34. I am waiting for them to arrive. Can I connect the power output of the batteries as input to my CC driver without needing to connect the balancing connector? If I need to use the...

Lipo battery for running an NUBM37

My NUBM34 has arrived and I am in the process of mounting it to a 3" x 3" round aluminum stock with 6-32 pan head machine screws. My setup is going to be two twelve diodes in series (2x6 series diodes) in parallel. 2S2P, power 50V by 6A. What is going to be a best mechanical way to attach...

Best Practice in purchasing NUBM31t or MLD's

Thanks RedCowboy and Ricker. I hate to say that I am one of those people that "In the Real World" would say follow the AWG chart. I am using stranded 22AWG Silicone and it's working fine at over 6A, but there always seems to be some hidden catch.... so, I know it's best to ask the experts that...

Best Practice in purchasing NUBM31t or MLD's

So, I will just tag this thread instead of starting a new one with this question. When you are wiring up arrays, what gauge of wire are you using for P/S - Driver to the array? I've been able to use 1-foot lengths of 22AWG for testing 49V @ 6Aish into 8ohms but I think that's on the cusp of...

Best Practice in purchasing NUBM31t or MLD's

Yep, that is definitely a possible resource option as well. I'm sure littleguy's contract with said supplier states littleguy cannot sell individual components, only components installed in assemblies. It's probably more about littleguy selling a bit on the side regardless of work flow. Asset...

Best Practice in purchasing NUBM31t or MLD's

I used to work as a manager and test and repair technician on an electronics assembly line for a major manufacturer. All high dollar and precious components are accounted for. Component test failures are turned in and swapped for new replacement components. Memory chips, processors, etc. Work is...

NUGM06 could be good for over 2W each ???

Cool, that's enough to keep busy with for "awhile" .... 😉
