new HeNe tubes Green/yellow [Image Heavy]

i recently got some HeNe tubes from Sam for dirt cheap.

full HeNe collection:

these tubes are massive

594.1nm

543.5nm

i got bored of waiting to use the $20k laser cutter so i used a hammer instead

these are some of my favorite lasers. 594.1nm is an amazing wavelength.

Nice. Love that yellow. I snagged one of those $100 new green bare tubes off ebay awhile back and they are monsters. I wish my bare red tube was like yours. The one I have you can only see about an inch of the plasma. I need to get around to building a tube stand for it soon. I'd like to find another PS so I can power both the my greens at once. FWIW the tubes in my avatar are the ones I was referring to.


edit: your green must be a different tube than mine. On the ones from MI Laser the aperture is on the cathode end.

this tube is a melles griot. i actually had a tube just like the little one in your sig, however, it got too close to a super magnet that ripped the front mirror holder clean off. The red tubes like the one in the OP show up on ebay from time to time for about $15.

im going to laser cut a stand out of this acrylic i have lying around.

Congrats on the yellow! I'm loving my new yellow HeNe as well. You don't get a better yellow than the perfect HeNe beam profile, and power stability!
