How does it hold up?
What about Enloops (1.2V)?

The cold weather allows for longer run time but the MCA is also too cold to be optimal.

I have two of these and they both do well in the cold. i have not used them in 30º weather yet but so far they do well.

I have not used the Eneloop batteries as the lower voltage will = lower power. I use the duracell ultras and the Energizer Advanced lithiums (lowered to 1.6v) as they last a long time.

for my cni pen i use the Pure Energy rechargeable batteries.
their voltage is 1.5V insead of 1.2V (like a common rechargeable battery) so the laser input voltage is right (and not lower).

How do you like those (cells).

Funny thing I'm wondering about rechargables yet the laser will probably hardly get used like most pointers do! That's one thing I like about the enloops. Their self discharge is much lower than regular nimh.

Glad to hear the Opto pens are holding up. That's a lot of power for a pen and there are a lot of fakes out there with no IR filter.
