I thought that several years ago when I was more active in this forum that there were 680nm handheld lasers available but I can't find anything on them now. Was I just dreaming? There are 680nm diodes available apparently since this hair regrow helmet claims to use them:
https://theradome.com/products/theradome-pro-lh80-1
but I can't find any sellers using those diodes in a handheld unit. I would really like to find a low power handheld unit in this wavelength.

Any help would be appreciated.

Low power 680nm laser diodes are readily available. Building one into a laser pointer shouldn't be very difficult.

are you trying to make helmet like that for using this "red therapy" ?

if so..
just buy some cheap ones like those..
they are 650nm.. trust me it does not matter.. anything from 638 - 808nm wil pretty much work the same.. all you need is laser light that is coherent.. even red leds work - thats why there is such a huge market with red panels that uses just Leds..

but the real question is, " does this even work in the first place"? those who manufacture them it is a gold mine nowadays..

i am not trying to bash it.. just some skepticism should be in place..

anyway, i was researching it a lot.. and trust me stick with 650nm as those are prebuild modules, so you have even less work than with plain diodes pressfiting them, etc.. you can build something like this for 100usd max.. lasers... helmet.. some battery source..

then it is also a matter of dose.. power +time + distance.... thats something you need to figure out.. but then againg.. it is all not realy exact topic.. with low power you can have them on for hours.. if you dont owerheat the tissue you are good..

Even a LED's would scare me
