Unbranded laser pointers question regarding power output

Hi,

I am new to purchasing lasers. I only got a cheap LASER 303 532nm a little while ago and have had a blast with it.

The website said it is <1mW. However, I wasn't aware, until it was delivered, that it's clearly a lot more than that. Judging from what comments I've read about these unbranded lasers, then by the fact the beam can be seen in a well lit room, and the dot can be seen outside from what seems like at least 100m away, then presumably it's over 50mW.

The design of the laser is identical to a particular branded laser that has an output that is roughly equivalent to what I'd expect my unbranded laser to have in reality.

So I wanted a more powerful one, but wasn't really keen on spending much. I therefore went with the approach that if an unbranded laser has the exact same design as a well known brand, then presumably it's "<1mW" rating is simply a lie (especially if they're showing videos of what they're claiming to be selling and it is burning through things) so that they are more easily able to sell it online, and in fact it's closer to the wattage of the product they've copied.

Having said that, I assume the power of the unbranded one isn't going to be the same as the copied version. Maybe even a lot less. I'm not too fussed though because what I ordered was a copycat of a 3W sage laser. So if it's anything above 1W, I think it'll be fine.

Also it comes with a class 4 rating on it. So presumably it's over at least 500nW, regardless of what the website says.

Basically I have 2 questions:

1. Are my assumptions correct, and pretty much all of these websites lie about the power of the lasers they sell?

2. Is it safe to assume that if an unbranded laser has the physical appearance and class rating of it's copied branded version, then is it's power output at the very least likely to be within that of it's claimed class rating?

If I get this big 20cm+ laser that needs 2 batteries and it turns out to be less powerful than my little green laser with 1 battery, then goddammit!! Haha Lucky I won't have spent much though :D

Cheap Chinese lasers seem to be notoriously underrated. I have a Dinsom brand Amazon laser, has a warning sticker says less than 5mw. Lol this thing will burn easily out to 3 feet or so. Would blind you instantly if you got the beam in your eye.. Is no joke for a 45 dollar laser...

Haha yeah there are some really strange ways of labelling/classification going on with these things.

Is that Amazon one you have a blue laser? Which one exactly may I ask?

My green one says class 3 and <5000mW max output power. Class 3 is <500mW as far as I'm aware. So even the actual class ratings on them seem stupid and as though they pick random numbers and put them on haha Not to mention the website said the standard <1mW haha
