If you want a bright laser that is kinda safe to look at without glasses (the dot on a matte surface), get lasence‘s 18mw 555nm module, it’s about the same brightness as 280mw of 450nm

You need the appropriate laser safety glasses to attenuate the wavelength you will be working with and you need to lase safely, those are the most important things that you need.
