Hello Guys,

I am in search for a 473nm Diode, these where floating around some time ago. Now i can't finde them.
Does someone have a diode left and is willing to sell?
I would love to make a direct diode 473nm pointer.

Thanks

I think these are way to expensive. I was explicitly thinking about these engineering sample 480nm SM diodes that where relatively cheap.
Yes expensive if Thor labs price of $2,762 for a Nichia NDA4116 100mW SM 473nm is anything to go by https://www.thorlabs.com/thorproduct.cfm?partnumber=L473P100 They don't even show the NDA4216 200mW 473nm Nichia diode, so...

As mentined by ZRaffleticket in post #1 in his 480nm thread as of 2017 "It's also unfortunate that these diodes came and went as fast as they did. The well is dry; and abandoned. These were developed for the sole purpose of Sharp making 488nm diodes"

488nm diodes are everywhere @ $30 or so: eBay, DTR and so on if you would like something close.

I see.
I think it’s worth a try to ask if someone has one lying around. The 488nm diode is nice, but not interesting. I do allready own one. I would like something much deeper. More like 473nm.

Maybe overdriving an NDB7675 would be an option? But who knows how long it'll last

Yes this would be a option, however I don't like the power.
I would only want a few mW not 1,5W.

Got it.

What you want doesn't exist unfortunately--low cost, wavelength not mass produced that almost nobody needs or uses , and a few mW --
Would a DPSS CNI module would do? You can get a 20mW 473mW VI series module from Dragon Lasers and make a hand held laser with it. Not cheap $390 but not thousands. https://www.dragonlasers.com/vi-laser-module.html or the larger H series 10mW but still good for use in a hand held for $350
Laserglow offers a 473nm 2mW pen at $399 https://www.laserglow.com/product/aquarius-blue-laser-pointer
