Any violet or blue Laser Pointers under $30

Im not looking for anything that burns, just a really nice beam. I saw a 405nm 303 Laser Pointer and the picture showed an extremely visible beam for around $10 - $15 (without the battery or battery charger), and after looking up a review on the exact pointer, turns out it barely even shows in a completely dark room. (I know that it's because the Human eye and the visible color spectrum, but I have seen videos where a Violet beam is very well lit) I want a Violet or Blue because: I have a green LP with a nice beam, red is the standard color, and other colors have limited availability and are expensive or I would hunt for Teal, Yellow, or Orange one.

I know $30 isn't going to get me a good laser. I only want to spend below $30 because I already have a good laser, and I won't use the new one much anyway.

532nm is the most bright we can perceive. So you won't need a high power to see it more. Never go by the pictures as they fake those.

At $30, your best bet for beam visibility is 532nm. You will be disappointed by the level of brightness of a 405nm laser unless it's >500mW, and even then it looks less defined/sharp/crisp of a beam than a green or red one. Just the nature of our eyes not being able to perceive 405nm well

I don't need a green one because I have a green one with a very bright beam. What about blue? Would there be any blue lasers with a visible beam at around $30?

Not for $30. I can't even think of a way to build a decent laser for $30 lol. If $30 is a hard limit for your budget, your best shot would be to buy as many 405nm eBay laser pen pointers as you can (like these https://www.ebay.com/itm/254269926076) and turn up the current limiter on them - they have a screw on the driver board next to where the button is located that controls the current fed the laser diode. You'll probably fry a few of them, but you might just get lucky with one that lasts a few months with a visible ish beam at night

Besides the eBay route, the closest you're gonna get is probably this: https://www.sanwulasers.com/product/pocket. Note that Sanwu is currently not manufacturing or shipping anything due to coronavirus concerns

Last I saw was $40 or $45 I believe.

Don't know what you are imagining for a price of under $30 but with that budget in mind all you are going to be able to get a lowest end low toy quality/throw away if damaged quality, mass produced laser. 532nm green will be the brightest visually, 405nm violet the least visible---532nm green is 10X brighter visually than 445nm blue, meaning a 100mW 532nm green is as bright visually and a 1000mW blue so if you want bright stay with 532nm green. There really is no good choice in the price range you mention--cheapest available is just that.

I take it that tongue is towards me? I'm quite aware that 555nm is 100% visible to us give or take a few nm. But the lasers he would be looking at do not come in that wavelength so it was pointless to mention it.

What about blue?

You can get the 80-100mw 450nm 202 pen 2 aaa battery style from laserpointerstore. It was $18 shipped now they are $20 shipped. I have 2. Beam is visible even in just barely low light. Awesome at night! They have a nice blue ribbon shaped beam. 1 is 2 years old and it works great.

I’m going to throw in that the brightest wavelength is actually 507nm as it is the scotopic peak. 507nm at night is 1700lm/W whereas 555nm is the photopic peak at ~683lm/W. Therefore any wavelength between these two peaks will remain bright under all lighting conditions. That’s why 532 is bright all the time.

Yes for a decent laser you'll pay more than 30.00 . all the drivers that DTR sells are 30.00 alone and they are awesome. Or go the way of some cheesy Chinese driver for 6 bucks . The only other driver blew 30.00 from DTR is the Flex Drive V5 selling at 25.00

I have a 18650 battery back already and have extra batteries, so I wouldn't have to buy those unless it takes a different battery. The green laser I have had for 4 - 5 years is working very fine with a sharp beam and I use it frequently, and I bought it for ~$20. I saw somebody mention the "gattling gun" lasers getting cheaper, I was thinking about looking into those if they are any good.

Gatling lasers are among the cheapest money can buy and I'm not talking about their price. They are much smaller than they look online and though they have hollow aluminum rods, the actual heat sink is very small. I don't recommend them, but to each his own.
