These have got to be the biggest pieces of crap I’ve wasted money on. I went with the 7watt. It worked well four about an hour of run time then the button that switches it on and off got stuck and before that the laser was getting stuck on low power a lot. The base where you screw in the batteries started getting touchy to where it had to be screwed in a certain amount of length or it wouldn’t work. Sanwu’s customer service has been horrible at best. They tell me to fix the base switch myself which looks to be mad impenetrable. They’ve basically told me to piss off throughout this ordeal so let me suggest to stay the heck away from Sanwu.

With the batteries installed, when you shake it, do the batteries seem to wobble or shift any? You may need one of those little green spring adaptors that make batteries fit tighter. My Challenger 2 came with one. What do you mean by "screwed in a certain amount of length.."? Or.. Do you mean that you have to leave the tail cap unscrewed out in order to allow batteries to fit? In that case, as I've discovered it won't work either. Maybe there is an adaptor accidently installed in the battery tube that shouldn't be.. The tail cap has to be screwed in all the way in order make proper contact to complete the circuit or something.

The being stuck on lower power situation is common with these multi function button lasers from Sanwu. The "half press" thing is kinda weird. It takes some time to get used to. If you want the laser to stay on a higher setting so that every time you turn it on, it's always on that setting, there's a way to do that. When you first turn it on and half click it to, for example, full power, you have to leave it there on full power for several seconds so that the driver "stores" that setting. So the next time you turn it on, it's on full power right away. Otherwise, if you manage to get it to be on full power and then turn it off after just a couple of seconds it will revert back to low power when you turn it on again. The half click thing is more of a feel thing. It took me quite a while of just messing with it over a couple of evenings to finally get the feel of it. If your tail cap is jammed up, which is likely, then see if you can get another one.. of try and get it unjammed…? Don't mean to insult your intelligence, just musing upon what it could be :) But I doubt it's the diode that's messed up. You have to almost go out of your way to burn the diode out on these. Most likely it's your tail cap that's faulty

Take a picture of your tail cap and put it on here

Totally had a revelation last night if you unscrew the tail cap completely and turn it sideways touching the battery and both side simultaneously the laser functions properly! So I was finally able to break into the tailcap and the black button connected to the small electronics board is stuck, atleast that’s my take on it.

I feel your pain. This isn't the first thread complaining about Sanwu's policy concerning refunds or repairs. I have never purchased one of their lasers, so I have no actual experience with dealing with them on these kinds of issues.

Hey is there like a repair team on this forum? I figured out it’s the button stuck

No, but there are members who will repair it for a charge. I would try to get Sanwu to fix their defective product before I would spend money to get it done.

Tell Sanwu and ask Sanwu for a replacement switch/small electronic board or a complete tail cap assembly to fix their defective product.
They have done same many times before at no charge for customers.
Should not be a problem.

I have had it for a while, I know a year. I used it about a month did the customer service thing for seriously three months. I’ll pay, gladly. Tired of these games and you get one reply every 24 hours from sanwu . That gets me more than anything!

Sounds like 2 unusual cases --usually Sanwu responds well.

Suggest you email them every day for a few days until you get an answer.

Is between you and Sanwu---nothing anyone on LPF can do about any of it.

Email them again is all I can suggest. Ask how to pay with Western Union if you have no other way.

Did you think to check the Chinese calendar to see if there's some holiday going on? Also Sanwu is based in Hong Kong as I recall them stating and if you don't live under a rock you know there is on going political unrest which may be affecting their ability to do business. By the way their lasers are not crap.
