You should delete this question on the other Death Ray post...
It looks like the flat of the tail cap switch is for the "positive" end of the battery and the "negative" should go to the front of the host.
If it's a 532nm laser they mostly come as a positive ground host. Could be if you tried it the battery the other way, you might of killed the laser as it don't believe it has reverse polarity protection.

I see thankyou for your reply the batter I used I don't think it might of been powerful enough to operate it I dunno. Just doesn't work.

Did you measure the voltage on the battery? Is the battery new or did it come with the laser?
Even at 3V you still should see some light if you didn't "short" out the laser by putting it in backwords..

It didn't come with the laser I bought it from the shop. I had a bit of light but barely anything. It's annoying me as can't find what battery I need. It fits in fine just doesn't work.

What color was the light after trying the battery a few times? If it's somewhat on the red side that means you likely killed the laser.
What you need is a "16340" lithium cell at 3.7V to 4.2V but I believe you might of killed it as it should be kinda bright even with the 3V duracel cell your using..

The light was purple or green i have forgot what colour as it was a while ago but it's a purple laser I am sure, so most likely was purple not red at all. Okay will get one of them and see if that works. Thankyou very much.

I only mentioned the red because if it was green 532nm DPSS laser that "shorted out" it would show a very faint red color which is basicly the "IR" wavelength that pumps crystals in the unit to make the green laser color. "It's also very dangerous to the eye even though weak in color"
I'm trying just to make it simple as I can in explaining..
A purple laser looks very dim to the human eye and under running it with that battery won't help, so hopefully when you get the proper battery you will find out.
