Only way to find out if they're real Sanwu would be to ask them (Sanwu, that is...). It's possible Sanwu's cut a bulk sale deal with a seller on AliExpress and the seller's undercutting them - but that's pretty unlikely.

I don't believe this laser has anything to do with a real Sanwu product and there Stricker copy also.
Cheaply machined and made internal products. It;s just a knock off..
I noticed the striker (if thats the big one) is advertised as `5W` but the picture shows `2000mW` but the company looks legit, they have sold a lot of gear and 97% positive feedback is no small feat, what do you think about the,

To contact Sanwu, either

sanwuservice@gmail.com

Facebook (send them a message there)

or Forum member "Podo".

and a +1 on what Diachi said about multi-posting. Edit your previous post to add to a thread you were the last commenter in instead of posting again.

Thanks for taking the time, I have a lot to learn, what do you think about the,

Thanks
This isn't the most expensive company but certainly not the cheapest either. Don't fall for the "lingo" they give in explaining things like "Free flowing driver"?? or "Rapid Cooling" on some units, all they mean is it has a copper heatsink by saying Rapid Cooling.
"High efficiencey high permeability optical system"?????? It means a glass lens that focuses I think??

The Striker difference from advertising a 5W to showing a 2W is just a generic pic they use.
It's seems your stuck on this Aliexpress, is it because of you being in the UK? It is a legit sight but as far as prices its all over the place with alot of different styles of hosts. If you do go with this place do your homework and compare but I would avoid any Sanwu look alikes.

Edit: those high currant chargers they show are just that and dangerous.

Cheers I will avoid the Sanwu clone but I like the look of the MTO M-C24 400mW purple 405nm one, the question is just from whom to buy it. I have messaged them asking if 2 batteries and the line and cross lenses are included as the listing is a little ambiguous and lost in translation. O-like have the same model a fiver cheaper but rated 300mW here

What do you think? Annoy Tools make a big deal about adopting "the original imported diode" is it possibe O-like replace the diode with a less powerful one? I only ask as I have had problems trying to buy from them recently and communication is all over the place. If you have seen this model anywhere else please drop me the link
Thank you for taking the time to help

Annoy Tools replied "It has 2 batteries, and now it just has dots lens"

Unfortunatly bad communication with these Chinese sellers is normal. This leaves the buyer on his own at times as far battery placement and possibly killing the laser..
"Adopting the original imported diode" is just fluff:whistle: most likely means it just the way they bought them as bulk from another vendor.
I believe the O- like is the exact same unit. O-like also mentions 2 battery's needed and "neg" to the tail cap.
O-like has it's ups and downs and used to be up there as one of the top ones years ago but I believe it's a way better company still.
A 405nm laser does not produce a visible beam at all, even at higher powers and in the dark if you don't know that already. It does have a small spot and they are good burners for the output.

What is your budget and what are looking for in general from a laser?

You should always try and order lasers WITHOUT batteries included, and then source them separately and locally.

If you get batteries included, there's a higher chance of customs inspectors opening your package as X-rays etc will reveal the batteries to them. Additionally, if there are no batteries in the package, the customs inspectors will not be able to power on the laser easily - i.e. if they do inspect it, they will not be able to know how powerful it is (and it's safer for them too. If they're expecting a torch, or low power laser and then get blasted with much higher powers than they were expecting that's not good). Basically, if there are no batteries in the package, the chances your laser will be seized by customs are much lower.

I'd message the seller and ask if they can take the batteries out of the package and keep them. 18650 Lithium cells are pretty cheap and easily available locally in the UK, either from domestic sellers on Amazon/Ebay etc. or from Vape shops. Good brands to look for are AW and Efest, but I usually use salvaged cells from old Laptop battery packs in my builds.

Budget is tight, I am looking to get a relatively higher powered 405nm as I love the colour and also a 1.5-2W 450nm blue Maybe this one,

It is a smooth pretty host especially the gold one.
A 405nm laser's max output will be around 800mW and thats pushing. 500mW's is the usual high norm if you want one to last but
you will be happier with a 445 450 blue as it's visible and stronger and more important they are less prone to diode failure.

It's thicker than the pic makes you think at 25mm wide. Just have to be careful of the run times as I would think 45 seconds max between 30 seconds rest etc..
Have you thought of some forum member builds, although shipping costs are up there.. At least in the future.
Order your safety glasses first and make sure they come before the laser..;)

It also "makes you dazzing and outsanding everwhere" and who dosn`t want to be Dazzing and outsanding :) I have already ordered 3 pairs of classes red, blue and green. Is this the same model but with an extension piece for 2 18650 batteries?

As for as forum member builds can you point me in the right direction please
Thanks

There are some forum members who you should keep an eye out for if you're after good builds. AFAIK these members have all made sale threads in recent times. There are many more members that used to sell builds but they appear more dormant...
  • Rich (Lifetime17) - Custom machined himself, uses quality parts. If you find any of his posts and have a look through the gallery in his forum signature, that'll show you what he's got for sale at the moment.
  • Trinh Hong Phuoc - I bought a 1W 638nm (red) laser from him late last year, it's a well-machined substantial thing that was shockingly affordable.
If you peruse the "Buy, Sell and Trade" subforum you'll find posts from these and many others :)
