While looking at this vid >
Converting a Maglite to 26650 li-ion cells. Recessing tail spring.

it led me to this vid>

after watching this battery vid I took a look at his site
and saw this battery for sale. Does anyone have experience with this brand?

I only use KeepPower protected batteries. Manufactured Sanyo/Panasonic facilities.. Ok, I got few Samsung 18650's but most of my Li-ion's are KeepPower.

Edit:
I got Samsung 18650's with Olight m3xs-ut Javelot ;)

Cyp, I think what they're getting at is that you're not very merciful to mistake. I've seen you be pretty harsh when giving someone a correction, which is often unnecessary.

Also, go easy on the cursing :tsk:

He has been this was consistently for the >9 years I've been on this forum. Don't expect a change. ;) I lost count of how many times someone has said the same thing as you over the years.

At least you know what to expect with him, straight to the point, no messing around.

I think I should post this here as I posted it elsewhere. There was an old thread on the Ebola virus where Cyparagon made a statement that viruses are incurable. It was a misreading of a Wikipedia article on viruses. I called him out on it as I knew for a fact that viruses are and were curable with medication. He made a point of negatively repping me twice in three days time, even though he was wrong. Anyone who would like to peruse this old thread will see what I mean. In the end, he stopped posting to it, but never admitted his mistake. Also, in order to do this to me in three days time, he was going back and positively repping old accounts from years ago that were no longer active. The system would then allow him to negatively rep me again in just three days.

Must have missed that... Although I do remember some controversy over reps a little while back, with the repping of old accounts and such.

Never had that issue though, on the small few occasions I've actually been right when arguing with Cyp, he's admitted to the mistake and moved on.

Just enter Ebola in the search bar and the thread will pop up. I went back there yesterday just to see if it was still there. It is, and from 2014. You will see his statements and the misquoting of my posts, but no admission of mistakenly posting misinformation. He DID negatively rep me twice in three days, though. So, if you have been the recipient of an apology or even an admission of being wrong, you got much more than I ever did.

I'm not surprised, "take a number" sort of deal :p

Just went back of whole thread..
-Whoa, I don't know what to say.. Two -neg reps for what reason?
Sorry for hear that Paul..

Now I understand much more where this +Rep inflation comes from. And I'm think Alaskan did just right thing even that was affecting +Rep system with inflation.

From my point of view it's much healtier behaviour when members are pushing others to 10k e.g than that kind sneaky actions against other members.

Thanks, ArcticDude. I'm not the kind to hold a grudge, but this example stuck with me to this day. It was just sneaky and way over the top in nastiness because I was trying to keep misinformation away from the forum.

I must admit, I'm amazed you got someone to feel sorry for your rep count. :shhh:

I really don't think you needed to call my skin "unbelievably thin"

Second person you. Not you specifically. I know you took no offense to "source, please", but others got REALLY pissed for some reason.

There was an old thread on the Ebola virus where Cyparagon made a statement that viruses are incurable.

"I'm not sure what to say, so I'll bring shit up that happened years ago"

Very well. If I said that viruses are not curable (by anything other than the immune system), I admit that is not ALWAYS the case, and I thank you for pointing that out. I mean that sincerely.

If I truly wanted to hurt you (and I don't), I surely succeeded. Don't give internet strangers that power over you. Take the stick out of your butt and let it die. It is not healthy for you, or anyone else, to be furious about something so mild for three goddamn years. Please, give your blood pressure a rest.

Not really, cyp. I mostly don't think of you at all. You are certainly not worth it. I brought this up as part of a larger conversation to make a point. I guess I did.

Got another question. From looking around I see the 26650 size battery can vary in size somewhat from different sources. Looking at this Keeppower battery which I posted a photo previously has these Dimensions:69.50mm (L) x 26.98 mm (D). What I do not know is if these numbers are compatible with the PLE-Pro 532nm laser. It's the diameter that concerns me. So if anyone knows the precise inside diameter of said laser let me know.

Hi Steve, at first I would have assumed that they should fit, but I just checked the size of my two PLE's, and the I.D. measures aprox. 26.75mm, a little small for those Keeppowers.
My J/L's are the older PLE models not PLE Pro, but they should be similar, maybe a Pro owner can double check the newer models.

Edit: I just looked on the Illum.com site, and on their description of those Keeppower 26650 protected batteries, they show the diameter to be only 26.40mm.

Thanks. I also emailed JL the same question with measurements included.

Steve, I was just thinking that you could also check with ArcticDude, as he said he only uses the Keeppower protected cells.
This way, you would get the actual size from someone who has one vs relying on various different sites with conflicting dimensions. :yh:

Just double checking. So, a Keeppower protected 26650 will fit into a PLE-Pro 532nm?
