Too late. Already have bits and pieces everywhere. Head stay fairly clean already. The thermolile disk is recessed into the head a little bit so dust doesnt settle on it.

why not encase the OPHIR head inside and then make a little slit where you can open when you use it the LPM something?

I actually have that planned out, but I have no idea where to start... cos I have never actually DIY EVERYTHING from the ground up before...

I must have stated this at least 100 times before and it is
even in every LaserBee User Instruction set...:whistle:

It is a bad idea to put ANY Thermopile Sensor into an
enclosure.... That is if you are interested in accuracy.

something to do with the heat accumulation and the surrounding air temperature increase I assume....

If you didn't say it , I would have moved on with the finalization .
Guess crisis adverted eh ....

I can see that you DID NOT read the User Instructions
for your LaserBee LPM....:tsk:

The same information is clearly stated in ever LaserBee
LPM product User Instructions.
