noob question about laser diode

can you fry your diode by connecting the leads backwards to the driver? :/ its really dim now and I think I jazzed it up when I did that by accident

Depending on the Driver type.... Yes you can...

BTW Jazzed it up usually means "to make something
more interesting, exciting, or stylish"
