Hi

I've been looking at laserbtb
for a high powered focusable laser at a good price, but i'm concerned at the great prices they are at!

A high powered 1000mw green at $204? PL 450nm 500mW-1000mW

I've read a good review on the blue one, but still seems too good to be true!

Whats the difference between the blue & green, e.g burning capabilities & brightness!

For starters, 450nm isn't green.
They do a portable 700mW green at $ 785.00 though.

For the money, that $204 450nm looks a decent buy to me. You can get 1W of blue for less, but it looks like a good host with good safety features.

On my 2nd link it looks like it has an option of blue or green!

They are great looking lasers, true!

What, apart from color, are the differences between blue & green, like is a 1W blue, similar to a 300mw green etc! Power, burning, visibility etc!

The pics & video at the end of http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/s...-blue-handheld-laser-many-pictures-72184.html look very impressive, but am sure i saw this ame laser compared to a 300mw green!

Thanks

I see what you mean with the second link looking like there's a blue or green option - misleading photos. (The 'blue' photo's are badly photoshopped btw :D )

1) Power - 1W is obviously 3.33 x more powerful than 300mW.
2) Burning - As you saw on the vid, 1W of blue can burn quite well. I don't know how well 300mW of green burns, someone else will have to chirp in on that, but personally if I want to burn something I get out the violet one (405nm). I've got a 70mW 405 that bursts black balloons at 15ft in less than a second (nearly as quick as my 1.8W home build blue), and a 600mW 405 that is just ridiculous. It will burn ANYTHING (i'm sure) and absolutely mullers its way through balloons. (405 for burning i.m.o ;-) )
3) Visibility: 300Mw Greenie will be more visible than 1W blue. I think green is supposed to be about 6x more visible than blue to human eye, so in theory around 170mW green should be as visible as 1W Blue.
4) etc: Not sure what this one could be :D

Oh yeah, I wondered where I'd read about laserbtb (Sky) before. It was on that thread of AMN's. They seem to be a good company to deal with and he gave a good review.
