THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR REPLIES,

So i talked to my dentist and he told me if I'm THAT concerned then i can

wear one of the goggle in the office...but he just seems like he's not worried

at all... he said if he knew it was dangerous he would've been wearing

goggles already....HA.. but what can i do but anyways In general, i have to

admit that i am a paranoid person but when it comes to my health i become

extremely paranoid so yea...anyways so i guess it is BEST to wear the

goggles..... oh wow i'll be like the only one wearing those goggles when

patient in treatment.....

It's not being paranoid if they are really after you!

Kidding aside, it is not being paranoid to research potential dangers and take the proper precautions against them. It is called common sense, which ironically isn't common at all.

Good job looking after your health but rather shocking that your dentist hasn't got a clue about the dangers of equipment he is using.

So, I decided to get myself a protective eyewear since there are different

types of glasses for different types of lasers.

BUT since i know nothing about lasers i dont know which one to get.

The one that the biolase laser company offer is around 200 bucks which i

obviously cannot afford so i was wondering if anyone can link any website

or tell me the kind of goggles to glasses to get that is not too expensive, it would

help me tons..

I was trying to figure out with the numbers of the lasers and all but i thought

it would be more accurate and faster to ask here :)

I WOULD APPRECIATE FOR YOUR REPLIES THANK YOU GUYS SOO SOO MUCH

Patient's won't even know you're wearing them.

With the dentist waving a 10W laser in their face, i doubt they will ever notice snything again. if the dentist isn't wearing goggles I doubt the patient is either.

Heh, that would be pretty bad. I assume the dentist won't be pressing the trigger until it is inside their mouth, pointing at the offending tooth.

Aye, it is pulsed, iirc up to 100/sec. Not much you can do though.

you guys are wonderful, i cannot tell you guys how thankful i am :)

So when i go back to work, i'm going to tell the dentist about the website that

you guys provided me with (the appropriate one for this laser i am using).

Also, at work i examined the biolase iplus that is in our office and it seems like

it is class four i believe, which requires a goggle or an eye protector.

So i came up with a decision that i'm going to try to not teach him but warn him against the laser that he uses

so he can buy us some goggles to protect our eyes. I already have bad

eye sight and i dont want to ruin my eyes anymore than it is.

Hopefully everything turns out good, and I decided the best solution

for me would be to quit if he doesn't buy those eye protector.

PS Honestly this isn't the first time something like this happen so yea.

My opinion:
If he doesn't buy them for you, buy them yourself. I know coming up with $110 isn't easy but finding a job is even harder. Today's job market is too unstable to risk unemployment over $100.

Take it from someone who is currently unemployed and desperately searching for work. =)

2800nm might be long enough that regular polycarbonate safety goggles block the light.

I was wondering the same thing... but didn't want to say anything as it was only a guess, and I'd rather not give an answer than give a wrong one.

The only absorption spectra chart I can find only goes up to 2200nm.
