flashlight radius 300m (984 foot)

Hallo,
some time ago I sold a mini flashlight that has a considerable interest in the local market. and I get a customer who asks:
"Do you have a flashlight that reaches 300 meters?"
I am very confused answer that question and expect to get an answer here. I come from Indonesia and the middle is often bought on ebay and resell at local markets. so please help me to find a flashlight that is required by my customers. and I am very grateful to hear it. what criteria flashlight that can meet that demand and how is it calculated in comparison with Lumen. thanks again

Youre looking for a flashlight with throw. I think throw uses Kcd units. Sounds like you are looking for a light that has a tighter beam to reach further distances. I personally have a dereelight night master v2.

if you could give me some idea in the form of a picture or item name. I really do not want to disappoint my customers and hope I come in the right place.

NOT what the customer wants. That is an aspherical thrower. It is only used for limited applications including hunting (it projects a square beam that is very small).

You are after something like:

By all means, stay away from deerelight. They are hunting lights and your buyer will hate the flashlight (most people hate aspheric throwers due to the square beam and limited applications)

EDIT: FYI you are on a laser forum and not a flashlight forum. You would be better off posting over on http://budgetlightforum.com/forum to get flashlight enthusiasts point of view. Ill post the same reply over there since I am a member in both places. BTW not a single person will suggest an aspheric thrower over there since they are not an all around light. They have ZERO spill so it will only light up a 4 foot square area at 300 yards, NOTHING ELSE

Generally speaking, you are looking for a light with a large diameter lens or reflector. The larger the reflector or lens, usually the farther it throws light. Reflector will give you a spot with some spill. Aspheric lens can give you a spot if slightly defocused, or focused optimally it will project an image of the LED die.

The measurement you need to compare is lux, measured in candela (cd) or more commonly, thousands of candela, (kcd). Lux is a measure of how much light is shining on a surface, while lumens is a measure of how much total light is being emitted.

You will get the best throw with an aspheric, but as LL mentioned, often times the manufacturer puts the emitter at the lens' focal point, which results in a picture of the LED being projected, rather than a nice round dot.

^^^My ArmyTek Barracuda out throws my 7G5CS when I have the aspheric head on it. Only light worth buying with an aspheric lens is one with the option for a stock head like the 7G5CS.

He is very right on the measurements you are looking for, higher kcd will mean better throw.

The ArmyTek Barracuda is around $125 USD but throws 600+ meters due to its super deep reflector. The Deerelight has NO reflector, its just the aspheric lens projecting the image of the LED die.

Notice how the aspheric flashlight is such a tight "hot spot" that is too bright to even make out the pattern of the wall. Around it you can see a little but NOTHING compared to how much you can see with a reflector

His customer could be looking for an aspheric thrower, we need more info.

99% of flashlight buyers don't even know what an ashperic thrower is; of the 1% that do less than 5% actually want one........FACT! I have one and never use it, ever. Reflectors are 100x better for real world applications. Plus aspherics tend to project a blueish ugly beam, they are nasty looking.

There is a reason why bot many people make them and crelant discontinued them. Deerlight is one of the only places you can find an asphic light and they are weapon lights and hunters use them for spotting.

I have about $1000 in my flashlight collection right now. I've done plenty of research on flashlights. I read CPF and BLF on the daily, I'm not just trying to be a dack and say you are wrong. Its common belief and I agree on it. Aspherics are cool to own and show off to friends but so is a stripper girlfriend, doesn't mean she is the right one.

Reflectors are the way to go and if you owned a good reflector thrower than you'd sell your deerelight in a heartbeat.

i think you need to clarify on the definition of reaching 300 meter, how focused or diversed your customer want it to be.
