is it really worth it?

Hi im new here on LPF but I do know a couple things about lasers. I was wonderibg, im planning on buying a 445nm laser, and I want to know if they are any good. I love the blue color and I love lasers, and yes of couse I will get saftey goggles anyway I would like to know if a 1w laser is a lot of fun thanks all!!

Lasers of any power are fun, if you know to be careful with them & enjoy what they can do

Hi lasers are great different wavelengths of vivid colors. Safety first rule of thumb always.youll buy your first that a wonderful but wait till you start building your own. There's nothing like it I bought my first but after that I built 18 of them it's addicting. All the merchant here will help you and the folks on the forum. Read all the important sticky' slots of good reading.

I decided to go with a laserbtb 150mw green, just because I know something bad will happen with a 1w blue, or at lease with my luck ha ha!

Well that's pretty smart of you to start with a "lower" powered laser. To get one from a good company is another plus. But this laser is still very dangerous. You still need goggles and you need to respect it for what it is! Other than that have fun and don't get too addicted!! Well you can but you'll be as broke as us!!

They're not fun at all. Lasers suck, especially the blue ones.

If you do de side to build you don't need a lot of items or tools. If you have questions folks here will help with that. Anyway if you build 445nm is a great place to start. For example 2W/m140/ from DTR is a great diode. Beautiful blue with a hint of violent and a very efficient diode. Then you can choose from many host designed by fantastic machinists here on the forum. If you do you homework you can build sooner than you think. If you buy Chinese units many are over spect and don't get the wattage that you pay for. Buy here on the forum keep your cash here in the USA. Check out the BuySellTrade forum lots of good deals.
