Hey guys I was just wondering if i could take the TTL wire connector out and just run it without? like they show in their Picture of it.

yup you do not have to have ttl the worst you might have to do is power by 5volts but it is a not needed.

Yep. It can be run with or without the TTL wires connected.

I can confirm that the o-like 445 laser does not require 5v to the ttl to run. You just need sufficient voltage and current to the power input wires. Mine runs fine that way.

TTL is the acronym for Transistor Transistor Logic which normally requires a pretty well regulated 5v to operate.
I started to go into a lengthy description but how to you do better than kiyoukan:
"0v = off 5v =on.
thats about it. " ;)

AixiZ has a confusing ad on ebay for their TTL driver.
2pcs constant current laser diode driver 80-500mA w/TTL - eBay (item 380267593546 end time Sep-16-10 16:58:46 PDT)
The picture says 0VDC = On.
The description below says 0V off @ >2.5V laser on
????????
At $4ea shipped I got 2.

I didn't know if the circuit needed, 12-15v like it says on their page or just 5v, for the input leads. Also does anyone know what the highest current output is for the pot.? And how many mA increase 1 full rotation is?

I've never sent any power to the TTL; the laser runs without it. My understanding is that you need the 5v for analog modulation. According to the thread:

http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/200mw-green-125-shipped-50812-3.html

the TriAngle Lights 150 mW DPSS green needs 5v to run if one gets the version with analog modulation, but I have the digital modulation version of that laser and it does not need 5v to the TTL to run.

I had contacted the seller and they responded quickly. After a couple emails back and forth, I think it might be figured out.

I had ordered the analog unit and apparently it needs a signal. They told me if it isn't fed an analog signal, I can run 5v to the TTL and that will work. I'll throw together a simple 5v circuit tomorrow and see what happens.

Now since I can run both the o-like laser and the TriAngle Lights lasers without 5v to the TTL, I assume the o-like is also digital modulation.

About voltage, I've run the o-like using 12 to 15v with no problems.

Edit: I just tested different numbers of full turns of the pot on the o-like. The laser starts out at about 750 mW and each full turn increases the power output in my LPM by about 100 mW. So two full turns seems to put the driver near max at about 950 mW laser output. Further turns of the pot do not seem to increase the laser's output power. It was still running at about 950 mW with five full turns. (I'm using 13.5 v.)
