Hi all
I recently have made a 1W blue laser in a c6 cree build with a m140 module from DTR. I got the one which incidentally does not say 1W in the website. Now I'm wondering whether my laser is really that bright as a real 1W blue laser because I have seen other sites on LPF saying it is about as bright as a 100 mW green laser which can be seen in daylight. Mine can't. Please advise, especially if you are DTR.:thanks: I also have a 1.25 A driver. Is that the problem? :thanks::thanks:

it burns like :eg:

What you need is to test the power with an LPM to see if it's performing as intended.

you cant tell power by eye
make friends with a member who owns a LPM- one that also lives in the 'milky way'

this looks mostly like a post building thread- DTR 9 if you dont KOW how to search) is the person who wouild tell you the M-140 doide is capable off more than 1000mW BUT high power equates to shorter lifespan- so yours may be set low for that reason- 1.25A will make a 445nm M-140 diode put out close to 1250mW very effecient diodes and robust too-- & its true 100mW of 532 is equally bright to our eyes as 1W of 445*

*WHEN looking at the dot NOT the beam--

sigh

That's the way to place it Bowtie Guy!
And if you check out my location, it's something more normal now.
@hakzaw1: Just did the not-funny Milky Way kick because well, I don't want to just tell everyone about where I am and let everyone know my exact age! Sum it up: Privacy.

You don't need to list your age for us to be able to tell what it is. Sometimes kids just kind of, you know - act like kids. While we all like to see people being enthusiastic about this hobby, I'm afraid you are going to have to tone it down just a bit if you want to make any friends here. Lurk more to learn what you want to without making yourself look bad.
