aww... I'm depressed because I just realized I'm going to be sinking a lot of money into this new hobby within the next year... lol.

try electric
its more of a one time cost of a car battery and charger.
ill trade you one if you want.
but its really fun.
pm me if you would be interested.

Naw, thank you, but I think I would rather go all out and have fun with it. Do you think a decent rock crawler build would be do-able for around (or under) 200? I think that's what I might aim for.

Hardcore RC basher right here. Ive been into rc since I was 8 and I got a rc buggy with a wired control, lol. I was really into nitro power until I bought a Traxxas mini Revo and some lipo batteries. That truck was insane, pulling wheelies at 30+mph, standing backflips, and a top speed over 50mph. I just sold it because it will be cold and crappy for the next 4-5 months here in Michigan. I will be back at it again come spring.

This is a good one for dirt racing, or parking lot fun. It is a SHO 1/8 scale nitro, 4 wheel drive.

This is a great basher, it's tough...and full throttle from a start, will flip it on it's back.
It is an HPI Savage, 1/8 scale 4.6 nitro 4x4

The SHO is a good buggy for the price of an entry level dirt racer.

The HPI is a little pricey, but it is built to take abuse.

that would be very doable

I got an XTM Mammoth 4 years ago and still have it to this day, running the original 24.7 motor. There were a lot of people hating on it because it only cost $350 RTR, but its THE fastest damn rc vehicle I own. I just wish it were easier to obtain parts for it.

Yea i love my mammmoth! It is running origional NOTHING but the motor!!! LOL one day the damn thing went outta range... and found its way across the HUGE desert to the ONLY rock of size to hurt it and hit it at top speed :/ i lost ALL parts except the motor (that was a sucky re-build!) but i got a billit servo and electronics box for it and a (in the words of jayrob) SCHWEET roll cage!

Ouch! My first Revo ran away once when the throttle/brake servo mechanically froze at full throttle, nailed a fence post full out and managed to pull off two back flips before landing on its lid and threating to detonante its four tires from the rpms! Had a fun time explaining what happened to the fence post holding up the fence between me and my neighbors yard :D
