While everyone is enjoying pushing thier 445nm diodes to 2W, I desided to get in on the fun a little, and push a diode to 120As.. I figure if they are getting 2Ws or so from 1.8A of current, I could get around 132Ws out of a 445nm diode!

132W of 445nm.. That will be something else indeed.

Well, time to build a test load for it, For this i desided to use a few 120A 1200V Diode modules due to thier higher forward voltage, you may use 5 instead of the traditional 6 diodes, and I could not find a resistor, so instead I used a piece of welding cable, some copper plate, a can of lime pepsi, spotlight reflector, and a philips screw driver.

This test load works great, plug your driver in and your set!

Here is my setup:

That power will last less than a pico second I am fairly sure. :na:

Nooooo... with good TEC cooling, we can keep the diode from overheating, Im sure the aixiz module with a TEC will handle it.

Lime pepsi?! I'm sure cherry pepsi would yield more accurate results, but we're only talking a few thousandths of difference so it's not relative. Either way, that load is on a nice floor

I'll bet it will let out a scream in that pico second though :scared:

Im guessing he needed to find an interesting use for those 5
big honkin diodes...

Now to find a 18650 compatible driver for it

Possibly correct, however the lime pepsi provides resistance slightly closer to one ohm on its coating, the cherry pepsi has yet been untested in a control lab enviroment.

as for the power source, we will use some china 18650s, the label says 200A/H. That must be a good source of juice.

its also been a known fact hardwood floors are far better at dissapating heat then copper heatsinks, however are still inferrior to TEC cooling.
