Why was he re-banned? Did he post anything bad? Everyone deserves a second chance, he did his time.

He tried sneaking back in more than once during his 3-month suspension and (apparently, I didn't see the posts) was rude even during those times. The totality of all of these things went beyond what c0ld was willing to tolerate. Trust me, c0ld is a VERY tolerant man.

Peace,
dave

Two of the users he sneaked back in as were Hidrogen and GreenMachine. Here are two examples of neg reps he gave with those accounts
"Negative rep for sending me PM's asking for sexual favors in turn for positive Rep!" (for Krutz)
"Negatie mark for being a homosexual that likes to be butt raped. (quoted first by his father)" (for me)

With one of those accounts he managed to get -152 points in 10 days. That was back when the people with highest rep power had around 80, which means they remove 40 with each neg rep.

I think it gives you the idea of what kind of person Arenared is, and why he was rebanned.

That would explain why I didn't see the rude comments. I never heard about/read those rep comments, Seb

Thanks for enlightening me Jaseth I was wondering why he was banned, I must have missed all this back when it happened. I was going to ask about him but didn't for the sake of not causing any drama, but I was curious about who he was and what he did.

Hey Simon...

You're a Mod... wouldn't or shouldn't you know why someone is
banned/re-banned on your watch... way before the lowly
regular members here like me...

Not unless c0ld told him. Simon pretty much needs to check with cold about such action, but c0ld doesn't check with Simon.

Like Dave, I do not think it is a problem that Simon did not get involved in this. No reason to do loads of research into a several months old issue when c0ld has already made a decision.

@Slipstream.. do you mean hearsay? Heresy? In either case, could you expand on your comment?

Sorry i misspelled hearsay.

My comment means that your comments are hearsay.

If you think the information is unverified or even wrong, you might want to do some reading about the issue. C0ld confirmed that Arenared's IP matched both that of Hidrogen and GreenMachine. I myself was also directly linked with the situation since I started the original poll about banning Arenared and subsequently received a neg rep with a pathetic insult from each of his extra accounts. I had several PM conversations with the two extra accounts in question, and from his GreenMachine account he even admitted to being Arenared.

There was a thread about GreenMachine in the Vets section, so I cannot link you to that, but I can quote from c0ld himself:
"it is arenared, banning IP and banning username unless anyone objects just email me=) "

About Hidrogen you can check for yourself: http://laserpointerforums.com/f58/ban-hidrogen-44203.html#post587317

This mostly took place long before I was made mod so there wasn't really any good reason for me to slow everything down learning about it and getting in the way. On the other hand for members that are banned now I will certainly educate myself about what happened and why.

True, thanks Dave. My job here is primarily to delete spam, junk/advertising posts and to lock threads were flamewars have taken over. Although I do like to know why and when a member is banned, mainly so I don't contradict Avery, the banning of members is up to him and I will just enforce whatever decision he makes regarding banned members.

Hey dave,
One thing i really never understood was the use of the term "ban".
I always thought if a person was banned from a form then, that's that.
Would i be wrong in thanking that a person that would be allowed to come back as a member after some "cool down" time would be suspended?

Un-banned? It just doesn't seem to fit the term.
