Yea the 520 diodes have a large forward volt as well ide imagine there about the same. On my 80mW build i had to use pretty much all the diodes to get that much of a volt drop

Origin Post is Preparing Shipment

It arrived early this morning at my local place and that usually means that it will be out for delivery. Hopefully I will not miss signing for it even though I will be home. Time to get my shower over with. Mail generally arrives between 11-12:30 but I know there's another mail person who just delivers packages and I believe that is earlier. Can't promise a ton of info today if they arrive as it depends on how I physically feel too.
Just put notes all over your front door and house that say im in the SHOWER! I have that luck of missing a delivery of a phone call the one second im off track like a shower or running to the corner store.

FYI - I got the notice that my package was actually given to Israeli Post today. So it looks like the tracking numbers were purchased and PM'd, but nothing actually given to the post office until today.

They are being given to the post office. Processing time various. I think I have said that many times. Anyway if I do not , than here it is again :)

Sorry guys but I've been way too busy today to do anything with them with my son still moving out and now I've got to get some heat on my back in bed. Let's see if I can get something done tomorrow.

no, thats not how it works, the only thing you have to worry about is now you dont have the diode :(

based on what you just said you have no idea what radiation is or how it works and they teach that in like 6th grade. Just guessing here but you may want to put down lasers for a few years. If you are an adult it just goes to prove my theory that many classes deserve to be mandated
(chemistry, physics, economics, government every year, and personal finance). let me explain about radiation since you don't know how to use google apparently. being afraid of radiation from a laser is like being afraid of radiation form turning on a light. They both give off EM radiation but it is a low energy non-ionizing radiation that can not hurt you. The radiation is only produced when the laser/ light source is on. Other forms of non-ionizing radiation include microwaves, IR, and radio waves. On the other end of the spectrum see what I did there there is ionizing radiation. This radiation can hurt or even kill you. This includes far UV, X-rays, Gamma rays, Alpha particles, and Beta particles. This type of radiation is mainly given off by extreme cosmic events, and the decay of heavy materials into stable elements. If you did some research you would know that laser diodes are well diodes and are made by layering special semiconductors which are not made of uranium or plutonium and do not contain a black hole but metalloids and non-metals i.e. InGaN. It is best to know what you are messing with before you mess with something especially something as potentially dangerous as this. Hope you learned something...

The diodes i got from the ebay deals sections!:
powered to 170mA!
It put out a wopping 12mW! I am using a radiant LPM that doesnt always display the best low levels!
I want to do more testing to verify this but thats my first test!
sry guys for the lack of info.
The color was pretty badass though, I will try and post a pic comparison later!

12mw? well, i guess that means its broken in some way (unless you got one absolute FREAK of a diode). thats too bad.

we should get a bunch of these and have them spectro'd to see how they do in comparison to the other green diodes in terms of wavelength.

It puts out a pretty good beam in the dark though! So I'm pretty sure my LPM is not reading right. That is why i would like to try a different driver/lens/mA/LMP(If I had another one)
attachment.php

Edit: yea my landlord declined replacing the carpet on the new lease!

Double edit:

I ran this diode at 170 mA for around 10 mins!
I had the module in a copper C6 heatsink.
The driver was an AixiZ 20-300mA linear driver that I rigged up to two 16340's!
It never died!
… yet… muahahha

12mW will actually create a beam in the dark as even my 3mW 520nm can do that (is it dusty in here lol). Your LPM may not read well at low mW also.
I'll be messing around with them probably in a few hours as long as my kidneys don't act up too much. When that happens it takes all of my energy to get into this.
Got you your REP 10fen

Right on thanks. If i get time tonight i was gonna use the other diode to under power it to see what happens

I want to go to the planetarium again tonight for the laser show. Last time they gave me the full tour. Pretty badass lasers they got
