After awhile of thinking i decided to buy a 100mW Red Pointer, and a 200mW Green Portable.
Arrived within 3 days since dispatch time for it to get to the UK.

The customer support was great, and helped me alot.

Anyway, i was planning on a video review so i have to wait until i can steal my sisters camera, as she's on a short camera, so I'll do a quick brief.

100mW red pointer:

This has a nice neat design, with a safety key on the end, and comes with little metal case.

The dot is nice and bright, great for pointing, however it's not focused to burn & doesn't have a focus adjustment.
However, it is great for pointing as i said.

With the dilda on full battery, i put the focus point, exactly the same as the focus point the sky laser 100mW red has, and it could only barley make the dark polystyrene smoke.

Here is a picture of the brightness of the dot of the 100mW skylaser red pointer compared to other lasers:

dots were made with these lasers:

1mW x 2, 5mW, 100mW SkyLaser, 200mW dilda

And here is what the laser looks like:

Now as for the 200mW Skylaser green portable, i haven't had the chance to test this thing out properly as in the pictures below, are with nearly uncharged batteries:

It comes in a nice silver mini suitcase :P comes with keys so you can keep it nice and locked away, also comes with 2 safety measures before the laser can be turned on.
The Laser itself looks nice and smart, it has a nice weight to it, and can pop a balloon a GOOD distance away.

Their are pro's and cons about the focusing;
basically as the dot is so bright, it takes awhile figuring the best focus point for it at a certain distance, however i think it's great that a laser has this built onto it.

anyway, dot comparison:

Dots were from these lasers here:

25mW, 75mW, 75mW, <-- all have no ir filter. 95mW dragon laser, 200mW sky laser <-- both have ir filter.

And to finish it off two pics of the SkyLaser 200mW portable:

I'll update it more thoroughly when i get the chance, but i need to shoot off to work!

I can indeed, however it does need to be quite dark, and you need it in certain angles like most red lasers.

More picture of the red! How much did it cost?

will do, when i get my hands on my sisters camera in a few days, and it cost $99.

Nice review! Do you have an estimate on the specs?

Skylasers' website www.skylasers.net/featured-pointers/red-laser-pointer-650nm-100mw.html&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us]previously said[/url] (the link will probably stop working soon, as Google does not keep cached pages forever) that it had a divergence of 1.5 mrad and an initial beam diameter of 1 mm (which us more difficult for red lasers to achieve), but it currently says that it has a divergence of 2 mrad and an initial beam diameter of 4 mm.

Do you know which spec is more accurate?

Nice set of lasers you got there :D The skylasers portable green are really nice. I also like the ability to adjust the beam width.
Nice purchases ;)

I'm not very good at understanding that kind of stuff ^_^ however the dot when i shine it, is around 4mm, even though it's alittle hard to measure as it's so bright.
you really can see the dot from quite far away o.O

I'm really glad i got em ^_^

Have you had the output power tested on these lasers? I'd like to see some hard figures since I've seen some mixed reviews for skylasers here.

They changed the spec based on an email I sent them asking them to clarify the beam specs for their red pointers. The current specs listed (4mm dia, 2 mrad div) are much closer to being accurate.

I'm planning on getting a mW reader sometime. i do have the mW output in a graph that they sent me (powered through 4.19V)

the battery i bought is 3.7V, so i don't think it's gunna be that high.

Nice review. On the pic where you showed the red pointers you used, the second one from the left, I have the same cheapo red (with the blue L.E.D and the ballpoint pen. My uncle knew I was obbsessed with lasers so he got me it for Christmas as a little extra gift (as a bonus).
