After awhile of thinking i decided to buy a 100mW Red Pointer, and a 200mW Green Portable.
Arrived within 3 days since dispatch time for it to get to the UK.
The customer support was great, and helped me alot.
Anyway, i was planning on a video review so i have to wait until i can steal my sisters camera, as she's on a short camera, so I'll do a quick brief.
100mW red pointer:
This has a nice neat design, with a safety key on the end, and comes with little metal case.
The dot is nice and bright, great for pointing, however it's not focused to burn & doesn't have a focus adjustment.
However, it is great for pointing as i said.
With the dilda on full battery, i put the focus point, exactly the same as the focus point the sky laser 100mW red has, and it could only barley make the dark polystyrene smoke.
Here is a picture of the brightness of the dot of the 100mW skylaser red pointer compared to other lasers:
dots were made with these lasers:
1mW x 2, 5mW, 100mW SkyLaser, 200mW dilda
And here is what the laser looks like:
Now as for the 200mW Skylaser green portable, i haven't had the chance to test this thing out properly as in the pictures below, are with nearly uncharged batteries:
It comes in a nice silver mini suitcase comes with keys so you can keep it nice and locked away, also comes with 2 safety measures before the laser can be turned on.
The Laser itself looks nice and smart, it has a nice weight to it, and can pop a balloon a GOOD distance away.
Their are pro's and cons about the focusing;
basically as the dot is so bright, it takes awhile figuring the best focus point for it at a certain distance, however i think it's great that a laser has this built onto it.
anyway, dot comparison:
Dots were from these lasers here:
25mW, 75mW, 75mW, <-- all have no ir filter. 95mW dragon laser, 200mW sky laser <-- both have ir filter.
And to finish it off two pics of the SkyLaser 200mW portable:
I'll update it more thoroughly when i get the chance, but i need to shoot off to work!
- Mike.
