Did you bother looking at the thread I linked to...? You dont unscrew the whole head, theres a ring at the top that comes off, then the module unscrews

I've managed to unscrew the head and remove everything.
I de-soldered the diode and the positive and negative leads from the module but then I realized there was a burnt component on the driver that was charred beyond recognition to i brushed it right off the board.
I guess the only was for this laser to work again is to either replace the burnt component or get a new driver from CNI.

Can you take a picture of your laser, as well as the other side of the driver? I didn't think the heads of the PGL-III-C's unscrewed...

The positive contact on the board most likely is contacting the pill, in turn the host, which is case positive...

In that case, where does the pill make contact with the case? It's anodized from inside so how can the current pass through the body?
I can't seem to find a part that is not anodized so I really can't tell how to complete the circuit.

Maybe the pill is touching the back of the module, and the module is touching the case??

No. The module is isolated by a white plastic ring so it makes no contact whatsoever.
I still can't seem to find where the positive input on the driver is and where it makes contact with the body.

This isn't too hard a fix. I can offer to fix it if you like as long as you pay the cost. There is a zenier on the module to protect it. You likely just need a new one and a new driver.
